an EXPLOSIVE offense.

We may have to carry the team while the defense gets sorted out.

Expect alot of points from Romo and the Boys.

our D will start getting it together in miami. geeze people it was only the first game

I agree. I think Phillips and Stewart will correct these problems

This is part of what caused Romo to struggle last year, knowing that the defense was an EXPLOSIVE offense.

I disagree...our offense was too explosive against the Giants.

We had too many 3, 4, and 5 play drives and it kept the already thin, not yet in real game condition, defense on the field too long.

We only had the ball for 18 minutes the last 3 quarters, and up until the final 3 minutes of the first half the defense had given up 6 points and had stopped them every drive after the first drive screw up.

I completely believe that had we traded in one of those 3 or 4 play TD drives and turned one into a 14 play, 8 minute drive, we'd have won 38-20 and we wouldn't be talking as much about the defense.

The defense cant ask the offense to "please slow scorer... so we can get a break".... I guess they could put in a request... but :lmao:

The defense SHOULD be coming out after the offense scores and WANT TO pin their ears back and force a 3 and out or minimal success to opposing offenses. Then they should be GLAD that the offense is gonna go RIGHT BACK OUT THERE and score some more.

Same philosophy of George S. Patten........."The Best Defense is a Good Offense"

But ya know..........if we take out the easy TD's for Gints from Tyson Thompson's fumble kickoff return, and Romo's INt..............those both put our D behind the 8 ball deep in home territory...........

turnovers are killers............hope wade is harping on that this week........Turnovers are Miami's only hope..............

No! This year is different. Parcells isn't on the sideline, and we will manipulate weaknesses in the other team's defense. Parcells never attacked weaknesses, but our new OC, who is a former Cowboys and Princeton grad will attack. You saw the evidence on Sunday night.

Our offense last year had no rythm and continuity. What I saw on Sunday night reminded me of our offense from 1991-1995. Very smooth, and well run plays.

Silly post...The defense is judged by what they do on the field. they sucked and that's all all there is to it:D

Im not overly concerned about the Miami or Chicago offenses and newman should be playing by the time the rams roll into town.

I believe it's the drive where Romo threw the interception, and I too thought we should've slowed it down right there.

But maybe this is who Garrett is. He is a guy that is going to go after defenses no matter. He is going to attack down field aggressively and often and the league had better get ready.

Now i'm not going to give the defense any help, I ain't slowing down my offense cause they can't get any body off the field. They have a ton of #1 draft choices over there and the offense has very little if any. This defense needs to toughen up and start carrying their own weight.

yea miami's offense in no juggernaut though, we ll see. Trent green just might be done, and ronnie brown has never impressed me. If we dont have at least 2 sacks this sunday... well it will suck haha. There oline is the worst. So if we do have a good day on defense it should be expected

In the end - that will kill us. The D needs to step it up.

Agreed 100%. Thats why I put the "for now" in there. By no means do I want this to be our MO. Just good to know that its there if we need it.

I think you are right about this. This is an attacking offense. And this will become more of an offensive-minded team.

I think there is a great chance that these Cowboys will much more closely resemble a Don Coryell Chargers team than a Parcells Giants team.

Both approaches have their weaknesses. But I don't think the Cowboys would have won that game vs. the Giants had the Cowboys offense played in a more conservative style.

I agree. I believe Wade went to work immediately on shoring up the things he saw after watching film of game 1. Wade is most likely focusing 99.9% of his energy on the defense while leaving the offense in the capable hands of JG. Look for an improvement in week two on the defensive side of the ball.
