Char-ron Dorsey, who starred on the line on championship Bolles School teams on his way to a national title at Florida State University, two NFL seasons and a long and successful coaching career in Jacksonville, passed away Monday night at age 46 following complications from a stroke.
Parker head football and track coach Michael Holloway, who worked alongside Dorsey as an assistant for most of the past two decades in both middle and high school, confirmed his death to the Times-Union.
"He's had an impact on so many kids that have had the opportunity to make it to the next level," Holloway said.
At Parker, Dorsey turned around the Braves after a decade of struggle, qualifying for a long-awaited Florida High School Athletic Association playoff berth in 2019. Among the many distinguished players from the Parker years was his son, C.J. Dorsey, now a defensive back at Ferris State University in Michigan.
