Loved Roy Williams! He didn't seem to do as well once Woody retired. Plus they instituted the "horse collar" rule after he broke TO's leg!!

He was a beast at OU and when he first arrived in the NFL; however, the situation changed on him and he was asked to do what he was not equipped to do.

Roy made the "hit" famous but one of my saddest days as a Cowboys fan was when he admitted he actually feared the ball coming his way. So beat up by the local media, DMN, and called the weak link on the Monday after beating GB and going to 11-1. That was also my last day to read the sports section of that rag. The fans were on a high and they chose that day to do a hatchet job on him? Hacks, every one of them. And proof they couldn't stand Cowboys success without trying to rain on it.

Man I remember being so hyped for 2003.
Bryant and Williams had potential to be studs. Campo was fired and we got a real coach.

Best player from that draft ended up being Gurode.

Shame how quickly he spun out here.

No matter how his coverage abilities were exposed after a few years, his reputation as an enforcer made the games watchable during some rough years. One of my favorite Dallas Cowboys of all time. He would be ejected in every game in the current era for hitting too hard.

There's a special torch that's been passed on for the enforcer on the Cowboys, and they have been legendary, on par with the Steve Atwater type player. So dominating at their position, that they were reaching special levels of intimidation.

First, Bob Lilly (before my time)
Randy White
Larry Allen (the only offensive player , maybe I should consider Erik Williams here)
Roy Williams
today... Micah Parsons.

My mind has blanked out his era of cowboys football. I’d pretty much forgotten bout Biscuit Roy.
