It recently happened to Hall-of-Fame wide receiver Michael Irvin, who was accused of sexual assault in a civil suit filed in Florida Feb. 4 by Nicole Alisa Mostafa, who claimed the incident had occurred 31 months earlier. The following day, Irvin was fired by the ESPN radio affiliate in Dallas, but the NFL Network stuck with him. ESPN claimed the move was going to be made anyway. Last Wednesday, investigators said charges would not be filed against Irvin because of inconsistencies in the allegations and the fact Mostafa had talked with three attorneys prior to making the report to police. Now, Irvin is considering firing back with a lawsuit against ESPN. Said attorney Larry Friedman, “They fired Michael Irvin immediately after Ms. Mostafa filed the lawsuit and made public the false allegations that hurt Michael Irvin and his career.” Said Irvin, “It’s been a horrific ordeal. This has been very difficult on me and my family. This has been the very thing I have so tried to avoid.” — St. Louis Globe-Democrat

Thought they just cut the show for awhile due to football season being over, Irvin show is pretty much the only reason i bother listening to espn radio(Galloway and co are worth the listen from time to time also).

Ask for Werder's hair-pieces as compensation.

Good. I hope he does and wins.

To **** with :espn: and all the gnat, egirl, squeeler, deadskins and cheatriots fans that work there.

They did him so wrong and I hope he makes them pay.

They basically called everyone idiots too by proclaiming they did this because of ratings only to be replaced by Ben and Skin.

yeah, let's have Michael Irvin in court getting his character questioned. great idea.

Why isn't he suing Ms. Mostafa for defamation of character?

I thought he was.

I don't think she has any money, but it makes others think twice about pulling a stunt like that.

I too only listened to ESPN radio because of Mike, it sucks that he's gone. In my opinion there's nothing better than to listen to one of the best and most passionate Dallas Cowboys ever talk about his former team during football season. I hope he get's whatever he's seeking if he follows through with the suit against ESPN.

Unfortunately -- it's getting more and more common: The Duke Lacrosse case, Ben Rothliesberger...

He filed a 100 million dollars lawsuit against her.
Turns out if she sold everything she owns she'd come up 99,996,500 short:)
