NFL DRAFT RB RANKINGS: BIJAN ROBINSON STANDS OUT IN DEEP CLASS

What makes Texas' Bijan Robinson the consensus top running back in the coming NFL Draft, and could anyone else join him as a first round pick?

Last year, we witnessed a rare phenomenon. For the first time since 2014, the first round of the NFL Draft came and went without a single running back being selected.

That almost certainly will not be the case this spring, with Robinson widely viewed as one of the true blue-chip talents in the class, regardless of position.

The real beauty of the 2023 running back class, however, lies with its quantity, as well as quality.

I’m not as excited by Charbonnet as most. Not saying he isn’t a good prospect, just don’t see a huge difference between him and some of the 3rd round guys.

Chase Brown and Duece Vaughn might be slightly safer, but don’t think offer much upside. I would definitely take Tyjae Spears, Sean Tucker, Eric Gray and Zach Evans over them.

Everyone could have a different Top 10 probably because there's so many different style of RBs. Knowing this it's still confusing for me to see a list without Tyjae Spears...just saying.
1. Robinson
2. Gibbs
3. Spears
4. Charbonnet
5. Abanikanda
6. Evans
7. Bigsby
8. Tucker
9. Achane
10. Keaton Mitchell
Bonus:
11. Ibrahim
12 Tavion Thomas
13. Rodriguez Jr.
14. Miller
15. Brown

Abanikanda, spears, r. Johnson and Sean Tucker jump off the screen to me as more special than the rest, when looking at 2nd round or later.

Charbonet looks like a slower james conner to me. wouldn't touch him, imo. but thats just my youtube couch scouting.

Spears is a guy not on that list that I like.

Love Chase Brown and Deuce Vaughn. But if we draft Vaughn, Dak may be in trouble with RB protection. Pollard has improved, but those are two guys who don’t scream protection.

Charbonnet is a DeMarco Murray clone. He's my 3rd choice after Robinson and Gibbs.

From his youtube highlights once he breakes into the open field he is very difficult to catch. I do agree he isn't a burner though.
i see james connor ran a 4.65. I really doubt charbonnet is slower than that. Probably a bad comparison on my end. He does look pretty fast in open field. Be interesting if he cracks 4.5. Not that it really matters since he runs well in pads.

Charbonnet IMO is a tier below Bijan and Gibbs, and a tier above guys like Tank Bigsby or Zach Evans.

He doesn't have a standout special trait, like Bijan's freakish Ferrari-grade cornering at 220 lbs, or Gibbs' rare pass catching ability. But he has basically zero holes in his game. He can run in any scheme, handle 200+ carries, and play all 3 downs. I'll bet now that no matter where he ends up, Charbonnet will rush for 1000 yards... his skillset simply plays in any offense.
