What are some music downloading, file sharing systems out there that are free of charge and dont run the risk of viruses ruining your computer? Right now I use MP3 rocket and thats fine, but half the time i cant find the songs im looking for? So I was wondering what some of you used to download music that is free?

not sure this thread will go over well, because we got some moral crusaders. try a site called filestube to look for whole albums or type in the name of the song in google + the word "rapidshare". best way to do it is use many different ways, p2p and torrents are sketchy these days, im sure you dont need a lawsuit.

Moral crusaders? Do you even realize the issue Reality runs by allowing these threads to exist on CBZ?

I don't think so, hence your comment.

I suppose if you have invested 1000's of hours into programming your site and paying hosting fees for years, only to see it taken from you because you allowed content that was inappropriate, you wouldn't mind?

Huh..

Moral Crusaders indeed...has nothing to do w/ it.

Here is a great site that actually pays the artists for the songs they sell so they continue being creative and put out more material. Great place..I use it on my phone.

Super fast server and download speeds

Son, that's stealing. Get a job and pay for your music.

It's not free, but legalsounds.com is about as cheap as it gets outside of free.

I respect your input as it usually is spot on, but in this case, 9c a song probably means it's a scam of some sorts.

Pay .99c at Amazon and sleep well.

I tell you a great site is grooveshark.com. Someone posted a thread about it weeks ago. I listen to it every day at work.

Not what the OP was looking for but a crystal clear mp3 streaming site nonetheless.

No scam, at all. I've been using it for awhile and downloaded a ton of music from that site with no issue.

It's a better situation than going on a site where I have to worry about viruses, but do you..

*shrug*

if you were offended by the comment my apologies. and if reality had a problem with the thread i would hope that he would remove it quickly rather then leave himself open to that kind of problem. i meant that he (TS) would be criticized harshly by some like i have seen in the past, he simply asked the question in the wrong place on the interwebs. and regardless these artist will still make music, and still make money off the shows. But i don't want to argue the morality of downloading, some feel one way and others differently. It is what it is. He asked, I answered.

As for ts, another way is to get a youtube ripper, and just rip the mp3 from there.

Here's the result of a quick query on legalsounds.com. No idea if this is accurate or not, but it makes sense.

This site seems to be following the same path as AllOfMP3.com, and I wouldn't be surprised if it suffers the same fate.

Both sites are Russian, and operate on the assumption that they are compliant with Russian copyright law. AllOfMP3 said they paid royalties to artists via the Russian Multimedia and Internet Society, which claims to represent copyright holders.

Problem is, this organisation is not internationally recognised as a legitimate body.

AllOfMP3 was shut down following international pressure and disputes over its legality.

I would steer clear of legalsounds.com. Even if the download model is legal according to Russian law, you are governed by the laws of the country you reside in. Legalsounds is not legal according to Australian law.

Reposting or watching the games online is illegal too, but you usually don't hear people barking about that, weird.

Speaking as someone who actually pays for the content, I'm not thrilled that it's available online for free. I'm happy to bark about it when it comes up, though.
