1. What do you think people tend to notice about you? That I always have stories and jokes.

2. What are you willing to splurge on?
Vacations with the family. Splurging equals good memories.

3. What is your favorite Christmas memory? Taking Santa Claus to a village in Mexico to give treats to the poor kids who lived there and had nothing. They asked me to show them how to get to the village. I was never so touched in my life as when I saw those kids when they saw Santa and came running through the snow in their bare feet because they had no shoes.

4. Are you more picky about your own appearance, your car’s appearance, or your home’s appearance?
My own, no. I wear blue jeans, t-shirts, and sneakers. My hair is graying and I'll never color it. I'm overweight and don't do enough to change that.

My truck, no. It's a work truck. I haven't even fixed the dent where 2 years ago someone tried to steal the truck toolbox in the back.

My home, yes. I refuse to live in filth. Thankfully my wife is cleaner than I am. So the answer is my home.

5. Plans for the weekend?
Hopefully, get my Mom out of the hospital.

5. Plans for the weekend?

  1. That I'm unfriendly and aloof. :)
  2. Things that I keep forever. (watches, guitars, telescope, etc. Not items I don't keep very long like clothes DVD players, etc)
  3. I got a microscope, telescope, and binoculars for Christmas when I was 7. I still have the binoculars as they were a nice set.
  4. I care equally about each. Although I don't care all that much in the first place. I care just enough to not look like a dirtbag. :)
  5. Head over to obserbatory tonight if it's clear skies out, gym, install a new pool pump and some other work outside.

1. My stunning good looks
2. Cowboy tickets
3. Spending Christmas Eve in the Atlanta airport
4. Home
5. Chores, no work for a change

Hey, Signals, I was starting to worry...working too hard today? ;)

1 What do you think people tend to notice about you?

My incredibly deep intellect. Just kidding. :D

I don't think people really notice me at all actually. I'd have made an ideal CIA operative ha ha.

2. What are you willing to splurge on?

Women. Beer. Song. And then waste the rest of my money that's left.

3. What is your favorite Christmas memory?

Spending X-Mas with my then-fiancee and her two boys Back In The Day.

4. Are you more picky about your own appearance, your car’s appearance, or your home’s appearance?

Not overly obsessive in any of those areas, but do an adequate job in all three about the same, I reckon.

5. Plans for the weekend?

Probably go to the ocean (Chesapeake). Probably finally take in the 2nd floor of the Smithsonian Air & Space museum in DC and visit the Lincoln Memorial. Catch up on a few bills, some overdue grocery shopping, NASCAR of course, World Cup (England vs USA) if possible. Consume lots of beer of course. Sleep lots of course.

Oh, while doing the tourist thingy in DC, might also visit the Smithsonian National Museum of American History just to see the egg :)

1 What do you think people tend to notice about you?

I have a couple of obvious physical attributes that are extra noticeable. Beyond that, most comment on my eyes or smile. It's also been said that I am annoyingly optimistic.

2. What are you willing to splurge on?

Not much. I have to be pretty passionate about something to really pay a bunch of money for anything. My last splurge was for a pricey pair of flip flops that alleviate my heel pain.

3. What is your favorite Christmas memory?

Back before it was considered a fire hazard, we used to have little white candles at the Christmas Eve church services.

At the end of the service, they would pass the end of the pews with the long candle lighter poles and light the end person's candle. They would then start passing the flame down the pew until the whole sanctuary was glowing and beautiful. We would sing Silent Night by candlelight to close out the service.

One year we walked out and it had just started to snow, the kind of big fluffy flakes you can easily catch on your tongue.

Best. ever.

4. Are you more picky about your own appearance, your car’s appearance, or your home’s appearance?

Probably equally picky, although not obsessive about any of them.

5. Plans for the weekend?

Taking a couch to the landfill, picking up a different couch and recliner. Perhaps mowing the lawn.

5. Plans for the weekend?

  1. Tendency to dig deeper than most on matters that intrigue me.
  2. Things I keep for a long time - which is most things.
  3. Watching my young kids go through it.
  4. Not super picky about any of them. Probably pick my home above the rest though because its an obligation to the neighborhood.
  5. Seeing my 16 year old off on her sailing trip around the world. :laugh2:

As Yeager did for big dog cowboy, I have done for you. Fixed it. ;)

1 What do you think people tend to notice about you?
My style! I always try to walk outta the house well dressed!!

2. What are you willing to splurge on?
My kids' tuition!!!! ;)

3. What is your favorite Christmas memory?
When I was 9 and Moms finally got my glow-in-the-dark Tyco race track with two loops and actually had a portion of the track that ran up the wall! :D

4. Are you more picky about your own appearance, your car’s appearance, or your home’s appearance?
In order: Me, car, home. (I figure more people see me & my ride than my house! Besides, the wife's (2nd) job is to keep the house up!!)

5. Plans for the weekend?
Working Sat. & Sunday playing basketball w/ family and friends w/ a cookout (and plenty of beer) afterwards.

I remember this race trace. I wanted it too! :)

Nah, I usually had to go outside and get a branch off of one of the bushes outside (what we used to call a switch) and then she'd have at it!! I think the process of doing that was worse than the actual whipping! The anticipation of knowing you have it coming was the worst!!:laugh2:

Why not save yourself a trip and just do what I do with unwanted items like that?

Put it on the curb, pretending it's for the weekly "bulk trash" pick-up, and wait for the "curb-shoppers" to cart it off. ;)

I loved it!! There was nothing like having some "nite" races since the guardrails and track stripes glow-in-the-dark and the cars were equipped with lights!

Typically I would, and have before, but this couch has really had it. It's probably 20 years old, the fabric on the back is ripped open, one of the arms is ripped open and the cushions/arms are stained on the front.

We had a slip cover on it because it was still nice enough to sit on, but I don't know that anyone would want it sans slipcover.

You'd be surprised at what some people will pick up. :D
