So what your really saying is that the sound of your mother and wife's voice is like thunder and lightning, it's a sign of impending doom? :laugh2:

  1. When I was a baby. (less than a year old) We were living in Arlington and a tornado ripped the roof off the house across the street and it landed on my dad's truck totalling the truck.
  2. Volcanic Blast. Like say on the scale of Mount Pinatubo in 1991. The Pinatubo eruption lowered the entire earths temp a full degree and ended up causing massive flooding on the Mississippi river. (yep, on the other side of the earth!)
  3. Space. Just look at some of the Hubble Space Telescope pictures. It's unreal.
  4. Partly Cloudy and a high of 67. A beautiful day.
  5. Little bit of fishing and probably some work around the house.

Picture of the initial Mount Pinatubo Eruption

If you don't know much about it, I highly suggest reading about it. It was unreal how much damage it caused locally and all around the world.

1. Have you or anyone you know ever been directly affected by a natural disaster and suffered major or total loss?

Surprisingly, no.

2. What kind of natural disaster scares you the most at the thought of having to go through it and why?

Tornadoes. They are completely random and devastating. It's not like living on the coast where you might have hurricanes and you can pretty much expect it.

Plus, growing up in the Midwest you see it all the time. The big tornado event when I was a kid was in 1980 when Grand Island, NE (about 1.5 hours from where I lived) got hit by 7 tornadoes in one evening. Scary.

3. What in nature inspires the awe in you?

Everything! Just watch the Planet Earth documentaries for some serious awe-inspiring moments.

4. How is the weather where you live today?

Cloudy with a chance for thunderstorms. Low 70's.

5. Plans for the weekend?

Working Saturday. Our daughter's final program at her school for the year on Sunday.

1. Have you or anyone you know ever been directly affected by a natural disaster and suffered major or total loss?

Fortunately I have not, though my aunt has been through many an earthquake living in Los Angeles.

2. What kind of natural disaster scares you the most at the thought of having to go through it and why?

A tornado. I saw one when I was a kid living in Fort Leavenworth, KS from a distance and I've been deathly afraid of them ever since. I think it had to do with the thought of total loss of sentimental items, etc.

3. What in nature inspires the awe in you?

Just about everything, but mostly the atmosphere and "biosphere" that we breathe carbon dioxide and trees use that to exhale oxygen...crazy.

4. How is the weather where you live today?

Overcast.

5. Plans for the weekend?

Birthday party tonight for the girl I have a crush on, hanging out with a few friends tomorrow, and some family time.
