Just started it today. Nothing but fruits and veggies and fruit juice. Gonna try to do the whole week but I am already jonesing for bread and meat.

Watch your intake of juice. Lost of sugar, so make sure you are exercising.

Why just fruits and veggies?

You don't plan on doing this for more than a week do you?

You'll be blessed for fasting. Mark my words and notice good things happening in your life. :)

And don't go eating a large steak dinner right after your fast.

If you do, you will notice some things happening in your life. ;)

Nope, just one week. I kinda a want to reboot my system and doing it this way is supposed to help. Then I might do a week of just juicing.

Will be doing some walking each night and at lunch time. The juice I am drinking is 100% natural juice and no additives. Just plain juice.

That's the tough part. I am such a big fan of well cooked steaks.

Hang in there. You'll be surprised how good you look just from the way your skin will look. People say I look younger now. Of course, I get a some flack from people for being a veggie nut. But doing something like this for your health is one of the best things you can do for yourself... and your kids, so you can be around for them in the future.

Congrats, and hang in there. It won't be easy.

I've been doing a serious juice/raw veggie diet for the last several weeks. I have eaten fish, but that was one time in about 2 months. I have stopped taking the 5 medicines I was taking for nausea, pain and the rest of my GI problems. Is it a miracle? No, but it makes sense that my symptoms went away once I started treating my body better. Try it for a week at first. Then if you can go for juicing just twice a day and the rest raw food, you will notice a difference. I was inspired by Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead. But this has been around for a while. He just did a good job of bringing sort of the nutritional aspects out of juicing and the benefits for auto-immune disease, etc. Nutrition and health go hand in hand....

This is the third day. I did sneak a couple very small slivers of steak last night because my wife made steak stir fry. I ate the veggies from that and it was the first cooked veggies I had other than a small cup of peas. I have had no bread at all or anything from the wheat family. I started this thing on Monday morning. I weighed myself Sunday night before I went to bed and then again this morning. In this amount of time I have lost 5.5 pounds.

I have also noticed I am a bit more irritable. I don't like raw veggies to start with but I just want to get through Saturday and see what the results are. Unfortunately, I have two very important lunch meetings this week and will be challenged to find something that is just veggies other than a salad.

I also miss dairy. I am a big milk, cheese and ice cream fan. So this is real tough.

I will be honest, I really want a bucket of KFC.

stick with it man. I've been cutting out a good amount of dairy and meat. Try Chocolate or Vanilla Almond milk...its freaking fantastic.

Your bowel movements will be interesting for awhile and a little stinky haha.

Until you get back to a manly diet of MEAT...You are not allowed to use the term CAJUN in your username! ;) :p:

I love fruits, no problem with that. However I don't like raw veggies...I feel for you.

Although I think I would have to try something different if I wanted to go on a diet.

If a diet does not allow me to eat meat, some form of bread or pasta...screw that diet.:laugh2:

some people hate this, but look up

summer squash / zucchini pasta. You make pasta out of squash / zucchini, and I really like it, but my boyfriend hates it. You can put marinara and other veggies like mushroom / onions, etc. no cheese obviously, but I really like it.

Yeah, you get irritable. But try drinking or eating some fruit when that happens. I eat Mangos for a meat substitute and I think it helps your body from wanting those refined foods... it works great. My body doesn't like not eating pizza, burgers, fried asian/indian food. But it does like it, if that makes sense.

Hunger is the worst thing because we're so accustomed to the American diet. But the pain I was going through from being sick, which was likely being exacerbated by my diet, wasn't worth any sort of food I love. So now it's a lifestyle thing. And I actually like eating some of the things I eat now. The funny thing is, I spend the same now because I was eating so much.

Just keep doing what you can do, Cajun. I'm not saying meat is bad or anything like that. I actually want to eat a juicy steak soon. And i'm going to. I just had to change my lifestyle and change my diet. Once I did that, no kidding, I found out how important what we eat can be.

I haven't been in the hospital in a 6-7 weeks. That's good considering I was in there 5 times in a month.

Today I have been getting a bit light headed and getting a headache. I am sure it is from my body trying to adjust. I did fall off the wagon a bit today because someone in my office actually brought in some KFC popcorn chicken for several of my admins. Well, I couldn't help myself so I ate a few pieces. It was like manna.

But That was all I had. I had a banana and some all natural berry juice and a bottle of water.

Right now it's about 5PM and getting ready to leave my office. And I feel like I am imbalanced a bit.Hope tomorrow is better because if not this thing is over.

One of my cousins is a devout vegetarian. I now have a better understanding why he is so wacky. If I had to do this my entire life I would be wacky as well.

I don't understand why people do this to themselves. You can get all the proper nutrition without giving up meat or making yourself miserable. Just make sure you do eat plenty of veggies and do lean meats in sensible portions. You don't have to stick to raw or eat unappetizing things to diet.
