Cowboys sleep in

Coach Wade Phillips gave the Cowboys a night off Wednesday night and pushed curfew back to midnight. Normally, curfew is 11 p.m.
The Cowboys have one practice today and Friday. Both are at 2:30 p.m.
Today and Friday will mark the first back-to-back, one-practice days since training camp began last week.

Im interested to see what kind of condition the cowboys will come out of camp in. If the guys come out in good shape and play well, it may change the way other teams do training camp because it seems like the cowboys are taking it very easy in camp with only a couple of 2 a days and indoor air conditioned practices

Phillips has said that he expected the guys to come INTO camp conditioned, not that Camp itself would be used to condition. It is his philosophy that camp is to teach, not make the players more athletic.

The Cowboys have actually had more two-a-days than several other teams, and we had more OTAs prior to the start of camp than we've had previously. I think you're just hearing about it more b/c the media pushes the impression that Phillips is so much more laid back than Parcells. In any event, we're not really at the vanguard when it comes to light training camps this year.

two a days don't mean much when you sit your vets for one of those two...

How long is training camp?

Hopefully everybody has learned from the Commanders and their laughably short training camp in which the team was decimated by injuries because they were so out of shape.

Those teams problems were guys like Larrimore, Ross, Goodrich, Weatherington, Page, Hambrick, Hambrick, Underwood, Scott, Dixon, Carter, Leaf, Hutchinson, Lehr, Nix, Hawthorne, Harris, Vollers, Mathis, Pittman, McIver and Steele.

Most of those guys started and all were major 'contributors' on Campos teams and not a single one of them would make this roster. Campo nor the Alamodome were the problem for those teams.

Kevin Mathis would make this team

Kevin mathis hasnt played a full season since his rookie year and it was no different when Campo had him. Mathis was not very good back then even when he wasnt hurt.

I think it ends the day before we play Indy.
