What Roy Williams Sees

When a pass comes towards Roy Williams he doesn't see a ball, he sees something else.

"I think it's $100,000 in cash," he said. "You're not going to drop that."

This explains why Roy One-One doesn't seem to drop many passes. He also said he thinks the defenders that are chasing him are dogs who want to tear him apart.

UT fans may remember from his playing days in Austin he used these expressions, and I had to jog his memory today after the game to see if he still recalled his lines.
Thankfully, he did.

What Do You Think Greg Ellis Means?

Linebacker Greg Ellis was doing his best job at being politically correct after the game, but if he's ticked it usually comes through.

When asked about the big change in the game, Ellis said, "I think (defenders) got in a better position. I didn't play a whole bunch myself, so maybe that's what happened. Maybe they changed the calls. When you're not in the game you don't get the calls so maybe they changed the calls. I don't know."

Translation - since Anthony Spencer has come back I never get to play as much any more, and that bums me out. Big time.

The Not So Great: Offensive Line

The offensive line probably should send Tony Romo a thank you note for bailing them out of a few sacks on Sunday. His quick feet allowed him to elude rushers several times, including on a few of those long throws to Terrell Owens.

But this wasn't the line's greatest day. The running game averaged 2.6 yards per carry.

And of the Cowboys' eight penalties, five were on the line:

* Marc Colombo had a pair of false starts
* Leonard Davis was called for holding and a false start
* Flozell Adams was called for one false start

What can Hudson Houck do to get the OL to play more consistently?

Just too many breakdowns and miscues . . . .

Greg, you suck. Your career is over. Goodbye.

Im not happy w/ Greg at all. I wish he would just go about his business and keep his blasted mouth shut. Does he really think that a team should never groom his replacement?

That being said. I like Greg as a person and as a player. He has been A-1 solid since we drafted him.

I just have to knock how he goes about talking to the team through the media and being all whiney about things he doesn't like. GET OVER IT GREG. That is BUSINESS. This isn't college bro. The best players - PLAY !!!!

That drives me nuts.
He's been solid. But I don't like him as a person. He's annoying and self-centered.

He would be fine as a spot pass rush specialist like Jeffcoat was late in his career if he would accept it.

He can resign...Coaching is perhaps the biggest problem for this team

Spencer is outplaying him. It's as simple as that really.
If they can keep him healthy, :crossed: he looks like he could develop into another star.

You'd think he'd appreciate it as being a situational player will prolong his career and allow him to make more money.

what Romo did on that 75 yard td no other qb in the League can do. next time you guys see that play pay close attention to what Romo had to do to make that play happen. That play defines Tony Romo.

Am I missing something? Why are we ripping Ellis?

Greg didn't say anything wrong. Don't tell me Mac Engel's editorial comment fooled you into thinking he did.

Does Ellis want to be on the field more? Of course he does. No need to slam him for that. The key is to not be a distraction, and he hasn't been.

And yes, Spencer has been outplaying him.
