QB Johnson answers his critics

Backup quarterback Brad Johnson answered any questions about his ability to lead the Cowboys if anything happened to starter Tony Romo, completing nine of 12 passes for 114 yards and a touchdown against Denver.

Credit being able to play behind the first-team offensive line for Johnson’s success. He also showed critics of his arm strength that he can still get the ball down the field with a 37-yard connection to receiver Miles Austin.

"I don’t get concerned with what’s being said good or bad," Johnson said. "If you do, you are not going to last very long.”

Felix took a swing pass 30 yards, and Miles Austin made a great individual play coming back for the ball on a sideline route that was badly underthrown. Brad Johnson did nothing to alleviate my concerns.

I didn't see it that way, I thought he looked pretty darn good and his passes had plenty of zip on them. Quite frankly, I was shocked. :LOL

I was surprised by the first game. He didn't do well but when he had time to pass he had some zip on it. He threw an out pass over 20 yds and it got there quickly and was pretty flat looking. But after thinking about it I'm not surprised. I doubt he'd be here if he couldn't do the job well enough. Jerry, Wade and Jason aren't fools.

Agreed, he looks very comfortable back there, like a guy who's been playing for more than ten years in the league. I'm very comfortable with him as our backup. All teams should be so lucky.

He doesnt look for his WRs enough for my liking and he gives up on them even when there is no pass no rush.

Well, I'm more comfortable with him but I'm not comfortable like I think you mean. Do I think we're down the tubes if Romo goes out for a few games? No. But I don't think he's Earl Morrall either.
