Bruce Read trying to fix problems

Special teams coach Bruce Read upped the tempo of practice today after the special teams debacle in San Diego. The Cowboys were dreadful on punt coverage allowing 20.5 yards per return. The Cowboys spent a good part of practice Monday working on the coverage units.
"Containment and coverage balance," Read said of the punt coverage problems. "We've got to execute now matter who is out there. There is a learning curve involved with these guys as far as what it's going to take and keep leverage on a back. I think we learned a lot of lessons.
"The test will be can we come out and actually improve and did we learn something from that game."
