I was reading on Bleacher that Godwin who got hurt week 15 is hopeful he can start game 1 against us?

Yet our fans say no way Gallup can make game 1 not even hopeful for game 4, wasn't Gallups injury before Godwins or around the same time???

like most have been saying people heal and rehab at different rates but that even crazier than some of us would hope for return.

so its not just us..lol

If Godwin or Gallup play a game in September, neither one will be that effective. Playing games 7 months after ACL surgery is tough. Both players should just miss th first 6 games and come back for the playoff push.

You come back when you are physically capable of playing. That’s it. Nothing else to it. You don’t have to make up timeframes

Different players with different injuries, different recovery timelines!

I was reading up on it on a health site. It said 9 to 10 months. Some exceptional athletes can recover as quick as 6 months. But realistically it takes 8 to 9 months.

How many wide receivers have come back after 7 months. ACL injuries are usually a year. The cutting and jumping alone puts lots of pressure on the knee. I would play it safe.

And Gallup is a jumper.

I do think his timetable is tied to the success of Washington and Tolbert and if Lamb struggles, they are going to get antsy about Gallup.

I'm sure if you quoted Gallup he too would say he's "hopeful" he can start. That doesn't mean it will happen just like Godwin. I don't get the point in rushing them back week 1.

I like Gallup a lot, but the dude gets hurt a lot. I'd just like to see him stay healthy when he gets back, whenever that is.

Exactly and OBJ came back quickly to then tear his ACL again in the playoffs. Let Gallup heal.

I think that's because of there being two team doctors for the Cowboys. The legit one and the spin doctor.

Yes, I said this many times. With this team, because it is the way they are. They ALWAYS miscalculate or misinform us on time tables for returns. ALWAYS.

Look how many start out on PUP " as a precaution' expected to be ready for game 1...nope, 8 weeks into the season.
Last year, Gallimore, 3 weeks, will miss the 1st few games, when did he play, week 12 or somewhere around there.
DLaw, 6 to 8 weeks, out 11 weeks I think.

Not to mention all the previous years.

So with this team, always add 3 to 4 weeks normal recovery time.

And that happened when he was being counted on as the guy. They were all over Kupp and he had to step up and the pressure to perform increased. He did not play within himself.

Gallup needs to be able to come back and settle into his role as the #2, not feel pressure to become #1. The adrenaline begins to flow and they forget they are human.

It is because the overly optimistic owner is GM and his pushing it has actually caused backlashes from players before like MBIII and Ratliff. I do not think Booger is trying to underplay injuries, I think he's just too much the optimist and people like that think their good thoughts can affect the outcome of others. He is also an extremely lucky person and that exacerbates optimism.
