Not Cooper Rush, not Micah Parson, not Noah Brown. Brett Maher???

The game came down to a 50 yard kick and he nailed it. He deserved the game ball. Other than him the most valuable players were on defense. Parsons was our defensive MVP. Rush and our offense didn’t do much in the second half. We damn near threw the game away with our lack of offense in the second half. Kudos to Maher and our defense.

I would give game balls to:

1. Parsons. He gave that defence energy and juice.
2. Diggs. Just really good competitive football from him. He got us the ball back on the third down.
3. Brown. You just needed someone to step it up at the WR position, and he did it.
4. Maher. Walk off FGs at 50 are not easy.

The entire defense also deserves a game ball, in addition to Maher. :)

In fact, there are any number of game balls that might be rewarded. o_O

There were several stellar contributions that were deservedly qualified.

No game ball for Maher. That game winner wasn't good enough to look good enough. I'm sure I wasn't the only one upset when he missed until he didn't. Do a better job, Maher or many Cowboy fans will have an unnecessary coronary.

They do give out more game balls to just one player.
Rush, Noah, Micah, Brett. I would even give one to Diggs for that last tackle for itself.
Also give one to each of the OL....heck everyone gets a game ball...:muttley:...even the fans and the crowd noise.

My point is that the head coach gave the game ball to Maher. Cooper Rush just led the offense to victory, a guy who has been there 5 years, paid his dues, and very few believed he could do it. He wasn't amazing, but he got the job done. How is your instinct as a head coach not to celebrate that guy?? Most likely, it's a political decision. Doesn't want to draw any contrast to Dak's Week 1 performance. But in my opinion, it's not a natural head coach instinct. Heck, who knows, maybe Jerry told him not to give the game ball to Rush.

Aside from others deserving the game ball more or not, I totally agree with giving this one to Maher, if for nothing else to help him keep his head on straight and keep getting the job done, we all know how important a kicker is to the game and after being fired in 2019 he comes back and gets the job done. McCarthy made it clear in the locker room it was a great team win. I'm just glad he nailed it!
