Gary Gibbs, our former linebackers coach, might make a good choice. He's currently DC for the Saints. Head coaching experience at OU.

Is it important to you that they be a former Sooners coach?

Gibbs or Stoops?

Think beyond Sooner Nation...

Ryan or Rivera .....

Theres something outside Sooner Nation? Whats next Hos, spreading rumors that the world isnt flat?;)

Gibbs has been gone from OU since '94 or so. This suggestion is kind of like Les Miles. They're both former assistants for Dallas, they're good and they have head coaching experience. No, I am not limited to a former OU coach. LOL. I like Rick Neuheisel too for the same reasons, no Sooner connection there! Lord, I just want a quality hire, not a Wade Phillips.

It just seemed like you were throwing the OU connection out there like that was a qualification to impress. I like the Sooners, but that isn't a requirement of the job by any wild stretch.

hey at least he didnt suggest that Blake guy that was the coach before Stoops.

We already had him as a coach before he went to OU.

"Quality hire" and "Rick Neuheisel" do NOT belong in the same sentence!

NO,

Couldn't beat the big boys while at OU (Nebraska, Colorado and Texas)

Didn't do much against the Bears

Stoops has apparently taken himself out of the picture. My favorites are now Pete Carroll, Les Miles, Rick Neuheisel & Gary Gibbs. I fear that we're going to get Wade Phillips, though. Bad, bad choice.

Gibbs trounced Nebraska one year (1990, I think). He also came in following a scandal, he worked under restrictions.

Anyone want to start a betting pool on Neuheisel getting hired? :D
