Hall of Fame skipper Anderson dies at 76

Not really sure how many remember Sparky Anderson. As a kid, I was a huge baseball fan and my team was, and really still is, the Cincinnati Reds "Big Red Machine". This is sad news for me. Part of my childhood, so to speak.

RIP Sparky Anderson

Same for me. Back in the day you didn't have a chance to watch multiple games on multiple channels every day, so you settled for the "Game of the Week" and the playoffs, and the "Big Red Machine" was prominant in those days. Sparky was a central part of those teams, and a part of the baseball I loved as a kid.

I have a baseball signed by the entire team. As a young lad, my father was the district manager of Woolworth in Ohio. I was born there... the team did something for the store, like a commercial or something. But my dad got the ball signed by the whole team, Concepcion, Rose...ever body...

Sad thing is I wanted to play catch with it when I was younger so there are a few scuffs here and there. LOL:eek::
