Get contracts done early, save money? How much are we saving?

For example we have Ceedee Lamb to get an extension, we've had players in the past where we've waited and you hear fans say "get the deal done early to save money!" Well how much money are we saving. So if Jefferson sets the market at 34 million, St Brown just got 30 million, is it really hurting us to lose out on 4 million dollars because we waited too long???

I guess in all honesty, how cheap we are, Stephen Jones could get half the offense signed with bottom barrel guys for 4 million lol, please give your thoughts
