That's an interesting list. It's easy to agree with everything he believes. I laughed at #5 and the socks.

Doesn't mean I think he is what's best for the Cowboys though.

To me, it is consistent with what you heard about him as a player. There was Prime Time, the flashy player and there was Deion, the player with more substance behind the scenes than most people knew.

I can VERY much understand how some think hiring him would make the circus act even more ridiculous. I get that. Seriously.

But he is also one of the few that could actually command a locker room while Jerry is around, and get the most out of some guys.

He would honestly be a good leader of men. The problems…he absolutely needs the right coordinators, and Jerry’s fingerprints will be all over that….and it never works. Also, without a major change in FO philosophy, this team is at least two outstanding drafts away from being a contender again.

They don’t even recognize where they are at. Still think the arrow is headed upward. Ha, no.

According to IAmJeanJacquesT, get to know today's Deion Sanders the coach:

  • 1. Deion is an old-school CEO coach, who gives his coordinators the authority to do what they want to do.
  • 2. Deion is the ultimate culture-changer because his personality is strong and his self-confidence is immense.
  • 3. He surrounds himself with coaches and staff who are loyal to him. His inner circle leaks nothing - unless he wants it leaked. He had multiple surgeries and was near death, when he had two toes amputated a few years ago, and nothing leaked.
  • 4. Deion is a stickler for punctuality. The team meeting starts what en he arrives and like former NFL coach Tom Coughlin he often arrives 5-10 minutes early. If you’re not seated when he arrives you’re late and kicked out of the meeting.
  • 5. He’s detailed oriented and sees everything. Players wearing the wrong colored socks are kicked out of practice and told to change. He doesn’t allow ear rings or phones in the building.
  • 6. He doesn’t curse, but he’s confrontational.
  • 7. He lacks patience so he moves on quickly once he’s decided a coach can’t handle a job. That leads to staff turnover and pressure to produce.
  • 8. He has an affinity for players who chase greatness through their training and practice habits and he will teach them to maximize their potential.
  • 9. He prefers an offensive scheme that throws the ball, which is why he asked the late Mike Leach for OC recommendations at Jackson State.
  • 10. He’s an effective communicator because he’s straightforward.
Sounds exactly the kind of head coach the Dallas Cowboys need.

The only reason im on board with Deion is because he hasnt written his coaching legacy yet and he is a proud man who will want to win

If he comes here it will be with real or wont come
This is me! I know the circus. But overall he may be the only guy I can see walking into Jerry’s office and saying “if we are going to win I need x” He’s not afraid. He will need coordinators. But he will be respected and can deal with Jerry. I also think if it isn’t working he will be the first to bail so we don’t have a MM deal. To me he easily beats the current names they are looking at

I think he is exactly what Dallas needs too. I can’t think of anyone else that could be successful under Jerry, maybe BB. The above things listed is why Jerry won’t hire him though

We've tried the "coordinator" head coaches..... Gailey, Campo, Phillips, Garret, and MM. It doesn't work with this owner. The only time this franchise saw success and had hope was with a "CEO" type head coach..... Landry, Johnson, and Parcels. So, if Dieon is in that mold, bring him on. We don't need another soft spoken, meek head coach standing in the shadow of Jerry Jones.

Pretty good list.

I'm all in on Deion as head coach, but really do need to know who the coordinators would be.

JJT has me warming to the idea of Prime being the choice. He just needs to have really good coordinators.

He also may be the only HC that can get Jerry to spend in free agency. Prime could go right around Stephen if he so chooses.

His receivers and running backs would have carte blanche to exit to the sidelines with defenders bearing down on them as soon as 10 yards in their running vicinity. ;) On a more serious note, I agree that Deion could potentially be a great coach - but with the crazies that might bridle this dysfunctional ownership and upper management.
