I'm all for players getting paid but Dak, CeeDee and next up Michah all want to be the highest paid players ever. This "me first" mentality results in the team not having the money to pay enough other players to have a solid team. Dak alone will eat up 30% of the 2025 salary cap according to overthecap.com. CeeDee is eating up 12% of the cap in 2025. Together they are 42% of the salary cap. How do you field a team with nearly half of the cap gone. Add in Michah next year and it will be more than half on 3 players!!! Mix this in with overall poor decisions by the Jones' and you aren't going to have the ability to dominate in all three phases of football.

As a fan it saddens me which is why I rarely post on this board any longer. I'm a life long fan in my late 50's and it all just too predictable. Look at the teams that have dominated. What you see if Brady and Mahomes taking a reasonable contract to keep more money for those around them. I can't imagine how I would feel working with guys who care more about themselves than having a team around them. It's very frustrating as a fan.

For about the ninth time, the Eagles have 350 million in void year money on the books. Their cap situation is significantly less flexible than ours yet they went out and made signings. They were aggressive.

We choose not to be, but it was a choice.

They went out and hired Kellen Moore and Vic Fangio. They also probably wouldn’t have given Dak the second contract. Hurts at least went to the SB, but at the rate at which he’s playing, they will probably draft a potential starter.

This is utterly silly.

The Cowboys aren't the only team that has a bunch of highly paid, top of the barrel, top players.

Others make it work. The problem isn't the players or the money they are making (although sure, we can debate whether this or that contract was wise), it's the GM/owner who is cheap and has convinced it's fanbase they do all they can to build a championship roster but just run out of cap space. It's baloney.

They could have signed Dak and Lamb and then still signed Henry and maybe brought in a veteran OL and a quality DT in FA. Jerry is flat out lying to you when he says they couldn't. Stop falling for it.

Yup. All of the above.

He waited on purpose to sign Dak and CeeDee. He admitted to it. They were "waiting for leaves to fall"

For what? To make them both the highest paid at their position? LOL.

Could have signed Henry, and a DT. Yet here we are. Cant run, and cant stop the run.

The problem isn't that Jerry pays these players. It is that he OVER pays them. Dak is not worth $60 million and never will be. What we see from Dak is what he is. He is not getting better at this point. CeeDee is not worth $34 millions and we saw why yesterday. He will have games like that and his attitude when he does is horrible. I don't know what Parsons will be asking for but he too is overrated to a degree. And he will do nothing this year because he is the only one on defense who can rush the passer. But I am pretty sure next year Jerry will hold off extending Micah until Micah maximizes his value and gets overpaid by Jerry too. In the meantime, the rest of this team stinks.

Getting blown out is the result of Jerry being in his words, the best GM in the league, but at the same time, would fire himself many times over if he wasn't the owner. Now if that logic doesn't make your head spin, nothing will.

When Jerry said we couldn't afford Henry, it's easy to connect the dots.

What's going to happen when we sign Parsons?

Having been around for too long, its hard for me to believe Jerry has become this cheap on his own. Stephen is this cheap, me and him both are chemical engineers from the University of Arkansas. We are both cheap.

It will get worse, Stephen is very cheap as he is worried about his assets more than winning football games.

Not their fault blame the "market" and Dak is doing it for the "brotherhood!"

cap is a myth we'll be able to make moves and we will have "loads" of cap space to do it with, kick money down the road and everything we will be fine

There seems to be an reoccurring theme with this team....Come contract time they talk about "me", but in the media after a loss its "we". The fight they showed at the end of yesterdays game gives me hope that I'm wrong, but you just get the sense that this team lacks real leadership and cohesiveness.

I wish you guys would take a few minutes and educate yourselves on the cap. Money has nothing to do with lack of passion and heart.

Having a 100 million dollar corner didn’t exactly help with the game on the line yesterday.

It’ll never happen but they really ought to consider moving him at the deadline if things continue to head south.

I like Diggs, but he is probably over priced and they can probably get a decent couple of picks for him which they can hopefully put toward building the middle of the defense.
