Steelers look to Austin for defensive help

AUSTIN, Texas — Texas’ pro day is under way and it didn’t take me long to figure out the Pittsburgh Steelers’ top draft needs.

....
Among the 53 coaches, scouts and personnel men here, all 32 teams are represented. The contingent includes two head coaches, Pittsburgh’s Mike Tomlin and Detroit’s Jim Schwartz, and about 30 assistant coaches, which tells me their team’s scouts gave the Texas players high grades and they are here to verify the reports and poke around some more.

Others here include Bengals defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer, Cowboys director of scouting Tom Ciskowski, Jets defensive backs coach Dennis Thurman, and Broncos scout Cornell Green (a basketball player from Utah State I signed as an undrafted free agent in 1962).

3 draftable corners this year at Texas. Aaron Williams and Curtis brown in the 2nd.

Chykie Brown 5th round.

Dont remember their secondary being that good though.

There was a great deal of interest in Curtis early in the draft process on the Cowboys part. Not sure if it's as strong now.

I think Curtis Would be a good pick in the 3rd. But thats if we dont get Peterson or Prince in the 1st....Or A.Williams/ B. Harris in the 2nd
