1) The dumb players and penalties are gone. Remember January 2022, La’el Collins, Randy gregory, etc. penalties in the playoffs that plagued us for years.

2) The turnovers from the qb are gone.

3) His west coast offense plays with in the scheme and has the correct amount of risk for the game as it flows.

4)When there is an injury, that unit does not collapse like in the past. Next man up and that player plays smart and tough now.Like our offense line setting the tone.

I am so thankful Garret is gone after just seeing him on NBC. This team is tough as a bag of nails and smart. Mike is a fantastic improvement over the mentally soft Garret era.

Go Cowboys!

Will McClay comes in, can't remember what year. They get better players.
MM comes in and changes they way they look and draft well and look at FA's and works with McClay on that.
Enter DQ, and he does the same with the defense.

The culture and team has changed since all 3 have been here.

Credit Jerry for this, or did he just luck into this. I don't care as long as it is working.

And we’ve also done a great job with contracts and cap management since the Zeke extension.

You know what? Maybe our front office isn’t the keystone cops meme that people remember from the past.

KM is gone too.

Just looked at Daks numbers....right where they should be for good game management.
Look it's more than managing the game the calls were being call the way they were because the game situation is calling from more conservative methodical play calling there's no risk because they don't need... Our quarterback hasn't changed the fact is they're not asking him to be a hero when it's not necessary that's what Kellen Moore would do he literally would have wanted to score 50 last night he would have wanted to score more touchdowns in the first game he would have kept throwing the football all over the field trying to look pretty... Kellen Moore is a very good offensive coordinator the problem is he's not very good at calling plays to match the flow of the game he doesn't know how to sync up his offense with the way the defense special teams were playing...

That's why he's gone..

But don't get it twisted Prescott still the same quarterback from 2021 who had 37 touchdowns 10 interceptions and like 4800 yards and he played great was one of his best years he can play like that you need to open it up he did it last year again don't get it twisted ....

You do remember when Prescott came off a broken hand last year the defense all of a sudden started giving up 200 yards a game on the ground they started giving up more points things happen things changed and who had us in the top three in scoring red zone offense third down percentage seven straight weeks the Cowboys offense rolled and we were winning games or at least up by big scores because of Prescott Prescott can still be that quarterback...
If needed Mike McCarthy and Prescott will open this offense backup and there's another reason we're playing a little conservative might be because we're using our third offensive guard and Zach Martins in and out I don't know how much time he missed cause I couldn't tell from way up in the stands last night but I think he was in and out of the game correct I mean we didn't have Brandon cooks it is a new offense but when it comes time they can open this back up this is not what our offense is gonna look like all year..
But with this should do it's quiet the haters because they say Prescott can't play games like this only Cooper rust could cause Cooper Russ is a Hall of Fame backup that did this for five games while our defense played well and what did I tell you I told you guys when you said that about Cooper rush here's the big difference Cooper rush would not have capitalized on a lot of those drives we would not have won forty to nothing we would not have won thirty to 10 these games would have been much closer in the fourth quarter and yes we would have won but it would have been much tighter you know low scoring games because that's what they were when Prescott plays like this and the play calls are like this he still has the ability to now have this lopsided look 70 to 10 in two games..
This is what I tried to let some of these haters and I'm not saying it was you I don't remember all of them saying that Prescott doesn't have the ability to do this but it was never just about Prescott it was the actual play caller you know the guy Kellen Moore it was about how the wide receivers were running their routes it was the offense itself that was creating some of that mess that and we didn't have much talent around CD Lam and players were making mistakes but they said Prescott can't play in games like this and he absolutely always has look at his rookie year he did this exact thing until it was needed he can put up points if the play caller calls the plays to do so when needed right now we have not needed it..
It will be nice when this team gets back Tyler Smith Zach Martin's groin is better Brandon cooks is on the field and they really good at good flow and find a little bit better red zone run game I mean Tony Pollard I I like the guy a lot but he should not be used as much as he did last night I did not like that...
So yes they still have some things to work on but don't get it twisted he's not a game manager he can manage the game which people said he couldn't but if it needs to be done I already showed it him up go back and look at 2021 go back and look at when he came off his injury last year he can open this offense up big time.. But you're gonna get risk with reward all quarterbacks who have to throw the ball too much could end up having an interception could end up having a strip sack fumble it happens the more you stand back there the more you wait for big plays to open down field it creates the issues it's not the player as much as it is about the plays themselves..

McClay has been with the Cowboys for a while but his rise to more of a voice/direction at least in the draft came after the 2013 draft when the scouts and Rod M. had a stark difference on Shariff Floyd and the team ended up trading down after deciding they didn't want to take Floyd.*
Tom Ciskowski just went to director of scouting, where he just focused on the draft, instead of both pro and draft.
And then over time McClay worked up his way with more say in both areas.

2014 onward were under him.

*I would post the links but it's to sites not allowed on here IIRC.

But yes, McClay for example was credited for finding Laurent Robinson among other street FAs.
