What needs to happen for Dallas to be the #1 Scoring Defense in the NFL entering December:

1. The Texans need to score 26 points on the Colts in Houston.

I give that about a 20% chance of that happening at best. So I say NO.

2. The Saints need to score 19 points on the Patriots on Monday Night.

I give that about a 90% of happening. I say YES.

3. The Browns need to score 16 points on the the Bengals.

I give that about a 15% chance of that happening. Hey, if Bruce Gradkowski can score on Cincinnati, so can Brady Quinn. However...

...I still say NO!

4. The Steelers need to score 12 points against Baltimore.

Both teams can play some serious defense. The weather might play a factor here. So I will give this a 65% chance of this happening. I say YES.

5. The Eagles need to score 4 points on the Commanders.

This is almost guaranteed. I give this a 97% chance of happening. I say YES.

You are welcome to play along.

I think you nailed it. If I was assigning percentages without seeing yours, I might have come up with slightly different numbers, but probably very close. Good job.

I'm assuming you mean #1 in points allowed? Yeah those numbers sound about right. It would really help if we hold the gnats to 6 next time around also...:D

Correct.

That is what "Scoring Defense" is. Meaning that the onus isn't only on the defense, but also the offense and special teams. Everybody plays into it and has a certain amount of responsibility.

You know, I should change that.

That is from Bill Parcells on his Pre-Training Camp Address from Oxnard in 2006.

I might have to adjust my percentage for the Steelers. Dennis Dixon was just announced as the starter for the Steelers.

Let me ponder that for awhile.

Big Ben isn't playing and Charlie Batch broke his wrist last week. the Steelers are gonna have a tough time scoring imo.

With Big Ben out I just don't see the Steelers getting their job done. I also don't think the Texans will score enough either. I'll say it doesn't happen for us heading into December.

I'm okay with top a 3 scoring defense at the end of the year.

They don't have to be 2000 Baltimore, but they need to create some turnovers and get big stops when it matters. That's what counts in my book.
