Golden State Warriors fire Mark Jackson

Interesting on Jackson. He has full player support but virtually nobody in the front office likes him. His teams have improved every single year he's been there. It's the weird situation for sure.

LOL, it's amazing how some teams, despite different ownership , always find themselves as losers. I'm not a Cuban fan, but he turned Dallas around, even if they never won a championship, they were a consistent playoff team, despite their lack of success in the decades that proceeded him. Golden State is just one of those teams that will always be bad. I will be shocked if their next coach does any better.

Very strange!

I don't know why anyone would want to play for this organization. They had a beloved coach and a family-like team that got better every year. Management has ruined any chance that team has of turning into a serious contender. Also, can't see why anyone would want to play for the Clippers as long as the Sterling family is still running things. As annoying as Jerry Jones can be, I'm glad he's a guy who loves the players and who the players seem to love.

Warriors owner explains rationale for dismissing Jackson

“The decision to not bring Mark back is not willy-nilly; there are reasons,” Lacob said Tuesday. “It’s less based on performance, that is win-loss record, and perhaps slightly more based on overall philosophy.”

Lacob said the reasons behind Jackson’s termination were broader than the record or even the strategy he employed. He said Jackson’s relationship with the organization was less than “ideal.”

Put another way, Lacob indicated Jackson’s coaching career would be better served if he cultivated relationships beyond those involving his players and staff.

Indeed, Lacob insisted he did not believe Jackson, in his third season as a coach, was tactically inferior to Clippers coach Doc Rivers, a veteran of 15 seasons on the bench.

“There is an element of that probably weighs on my thinking, certainly, and maybe on Bob’s, that there is the right coach for the right time and the right situation,” Lacob said. “And it’s our feeling at this point in time, that he’s probably not the right coach for us, going forward, given all of the circumstances.”

basically he was not a kiss *** to ownership and like crybabies everywhere they wailed until they got what they wanted.

This is going to work out well for Jackson.
He will be a coveted Coach and can land with a contender.
Could also do a Doc Rivers and bring in guys where he goes.

The GS owner is an idiot. The relationship with the players IS what matters.
He wasn't hired to be buddies with the front office.
