Good QB, but not a winner

There is no denying that Dak Prescott has consistently ranked in the upper echelon of NFL starting quarterbacks in the league. But like many other elite athletes, he's just not a winner. The Cowboys can choose to keep Dak, and keep having decent NFL seasons. Or they can choose to move on, risk the temporary decline of the team, and take a chance on finding a QB that is a winner.

Sports history is littered with good players who never became winners. And I'm not talking about those who made it to the championship level, but never were able to overcome another winner. I'm talking about those who were warriors in regular games, but shrunk under the pressure of big games. Dak is among those players - the ones who get smaller as the games get bigger. The problem with having a guy like that leading your team is that he infects the other players, and drags down the team. He's the proverbial crab in a bucket that drags down other crabs trying to crawl out of the bucket.

Of course, the biggest crab in the Cowboys bucket is named Jerral Wayne, but that is a different post.
