Was down between a les paul or a PRS.

I wanted to get the PRS but it was just too much.

So I went with the gibson. I could get the gibson and a decent practice amp and still be below PRS price.
So I got a newer boss katana 50w amp. My amp was an old peavy I got in the 90s so I was due.

Gibson Les Paul Modern figured in cobalt burst finish.

Ebony fretboard MOP inlays. Push/Pull pots for coil split and phase options.

I might change the knobs later.

Nice!! Play a little something and post it....that would be a good thread. Some of our other posters could share too.

Awesome! Congrats on a beautiful guitar. Cowboy Blue should be it's name.

Really enjoying this guitar thus far.
Nice warm and bright sound but it can chug as well.
Comfortable neck and fingerboard.
Nice sustain as well.

However she is a heavy thing compared to my SG and other guitars.

I think the thicker, denser wood body gives the Les Paul a deeper, richer sound.

I don't think it would necessarily need to be thicker, just denser, like bubinga or mahogany, but I'm no expert.

Yeah, big weight difference going from a SG to a LP. I don't think Angus Young could have kept it going as long as he has toting a Les Paul instead of his SG........lol

All the jumping around would have been a lot harder!
