Overall, I have Dallas as 14-0 on turf the last two seasons and 2-8 on grass. Feel free to correct me on any game I misclassified. There are some mitigating factors here like the fact that all grass games are away games and that several of the grass teams are really good but when you look at it, its absurd. The stinkers that Dallas laid against TB last year, Washington and Arizona this year were on grass. The point differential is really stunning.

Turf
32.9 points for Dallas
14.3 points for opponent

Grass
18.4 Dallas
25.8 opponent

I'm not trying to make excuses here. Every other team has to deal with it. IMO, there is something about how Dallas is constructed that makes it more susceptible to problems when the ground isn't fast. Sorry if the format comes out terrible here:

It's almost like they play good teams on grass and bad teams on turf...
Yeah I wouldn't overcomplicate this. Most of those games were either against really good teams, and a couple were in some not so important games at the tail end of the year in 2022.

Yeah the game may be a little quicker on turf which works for the Cowboys style of play, but its the same for both teams.

They bring the wrong cleats...was that one of the excuses one time?

I used to think that but the egg they laid in Arizona was rather odd. Also, we made tons of excuses for the team in week 1 at a mediocre TB team last year but they were terrible. In both of those situations, Dallas had a lot of incentive to win against mediocre teams and didn't. You can also add in the losses at the mediocre Jax and GB teams last year.

Losing at SF or at Philly . . . I get it. That accounts for 3 of the 8 losses. I think that the picture is bigger than that.

Maybe....The only consistent theme I see in all those games though is the ability for the defense to stop the run, and maybe there is something there. Offensively you still have games where the Cowboys are putting up 30+ points and you still have games where the defense is showing up including just 19 points to SF last year.

There is something to this. They act like playing on grass is ice and they're a step slower on offense and defense. To add more context to OP's numbers:

Road Games Since 2021:
Grass: 4-10
Turf: 9-0

So it's not just a home vs. road thing. They can go on the road to other turf fields and win but on grass, they come out and look scared.
