That's good stuff.....I'm jealous of you and your boat. If you ever need a first mate, give me a call. My favorite fishing trip was a shark/tuna trip 100 miles off of Cape May, NJ....overnight. So much fun. We even watched Jaws at night on the boat.
Shark fishing is FUN. We catch them here. Big Salmon sharks. We hooked into one out of Seward, AK a few years ago that was at least 400 lbs. Unbelievable fighters, almost like a Mako.
We are heading down to Juneau, AK. in a few weeks. Plan to do some salmon and halibut fishing w/ some friends there. Along the way we usually drop pots for shrimp and dungees.
Nothing like poppin heads off out of the pot and dropping them immediately into boiling water on the stove. Amazing how fresh something is like that can be. It's almost like eating something entirely different than what you are expecting. Good times for sure.
BTW:
Favorite all time movie. I remember being scared out of my seat when my uncle took me to see Jaws.
Great lines from that movie.
Quint: [
seeing Hooper's equipment] What are you? Some kind of half-***** astronaut?
[
examining the shark cage]
Quint: ***** H ******, when I was a boy, every little squirt wanted to be a harpooner or a sword fisherman. What d'ya have there - a portable shower or a monkey cage?
Hooper: Anti-Shark cage.
Quint: Anti-shark cage. You go inside the cage?
[
Hooper nods]
Quint: Cage goes in the water, you go in the water. Shark's in the water. Our shark.
[
sings]
Quint: Farewell and adieu to you, fair Spanish ladies. Farewell and adieu, you ladies of Spain. For we've received orders for to sail back to Boston. And so nevermore shall we see you again.
