What do you grade him from a scale of A - F?

I’m not a film guy or X’s and O’s and not qualified to render an intelligent performance review. There are many on here quite capable to do so. But just watching the game, I thought Bass held his own and did an admirable job.

Another hit on an undrafted free agent. I wonder if the team just got lucky on him or if the scouts recommended signing him. Of course, doesn’t seem like the scouts were that high on him or they would have probably drafted him late.

If there were a redraft, I think Bass might go in the 3rd round. I definitely would not trade him right now unless a team offered a 2nd round pick.

Cowboys also got a hidden gem with their 5th round OT.

Leans to much with his head down.

Seems to be guessing a lot on pass blocking.

Yup.

He could learn from a lot from Biadasz.

Biadasz uses his arms in space. heads up and moving. Good technique.

Centers are sneaky good athletes (for their size) and Bass is limited athletically.

Tough, physical player but will get exposed with extended playing time.

Bass is a baller, has the right mindset, the right physical tools, and carries himself like a mature vet.

IMO, Bass was the biggest steal for the Cowboys in 2023 draft.

That’s all you can ask for on an OL, bring that Brawler mentality. Talent only gets you so far, being a bad azz overcomes some talent limitations.
