I have hated in the past "The Force Awakens" & "The Last Jedi" but the prequels have been good "Rogue One' impressed me and also "Han Solo" did. I was ready to slam "Han Solo" but I think they did a very good job. Solo is worth watching and I believe the low box office attendance is because of the 2 movies that I hated above probably have put a bitter taste in fans mouth. Solo I give a solid A- to B+.

I have come to the conclusion that the movies with Rai,Finn, and the bad guy with the huge honker for a nose are the reason for the fans decline. They are terrible actors and the PC crap is just annoying for storylines. They finally have the bright idea to put in an Asian Female and I love beautiful Asian Females and they gave us a Asian Female who has the body of an Ewok. So many beautiful females they could have chosen. Kelly Hu, Brenda Song, Kaitlyn Wong,Nicole Bilderbach, Vanessa Minnillo, etc. and we get the stunt double for Yoda.

Finn makes the droids look human

Rai's only emotion is to smile like a ditz

Kylo Ren doesn't need a death cannon for the Deathstar .All he needs to do is blow his nose. That sucker is huge!!!

OK Han Solo is good and worth watching. My 2 cents, but gotta throw my slam to those stinkbomb other movies.

It's suffering at the box office because of the last clinker. Having not seen it yet, I expect Solo to be a much better movie.
Han Solo is much better. I saw "The Last Jedi" and I went because I wanted to see Luke Skywalker and he was about the best part of it. Everything else seemed so predictable where the storyline is going. Mark Hamil & Carrie Fischer should have stayed out of it. Even Chewabacca ,C3PO and R2D2 really didn't need to be part of "The Last Jedi". With Rai & Finn, I am rooting for The Empire. Can we have Darth Vader come back and wipe out all these annoying non acting characters? Kylo Ren gets his nose ripped off by Darth Vader's choke grip and The Force. I want to see that.

I hope the Mother Of Dragons roasts all those critics alive. :p

Saw Solo this weekend. It was perfectly adequate. No more, no less. It pretty blatantly set up a completely unnecessary sequel in the end. And I'll probably see that too, more out of habit than anything else.

Members, do not click the button if you have not seen the movie.

Do you think that is because of the conversation Maul and Kira had near the end of the movie?

I think that simply because a certain someone flies away at the end, surely to return. And a certain someone else shows up who otherwise has no role in this movie.

There is a third anthology film slated for next year but I think the central character is Boba Fett and not Han. You got me thinking though. Even You-Know-Who could not be monitoring everything going on inside the syndicates. Maybe an apprentice was helping him..?

I could 'see' the apprentice showing up in Fett's movie. Solo could appear but I think his standalone films are over, having established the eventual meeting of Solo with the true love of his life. Then again, Disney and Hollywood are greedy so I could be 100% wrong about another Solo sequel getting made.

Me wonders if they are setting up the Sith to return at some point in the future. May have a role in the next series in the timeline.

I haven't watched Clone Wars, but shouldnt Maul be dead. Doesnt this take place after Obi Wan kills him (again). Again I didnt see only heard about it, so I dont know the timeline of events

disney has pretty much hijacked what many fans considered an "unfinished" story with 7-9 needing to wrap up 1-6. instead of finishing it, 7 was a replay of 4 but PC now, 8 was a slam on men in general and keeping them in their place and to top it off, they pretty much said in the movie and through their actions they're burning down the past and starting things new.

i viewed it, for good or bad, as a "bugger off" to the established fan base as they were starting all over. by all accounts it seems that they expected the same success to happen again and it isn't. now that we have rogue 1 (which tied in nicely when done to movie 4) and then SOLO it's pretty apparent all they want is to sell sell sell, history or the past story lines matter not.

7 and 8 were waste of movies to me and really went nowhere, setup nothing and gave nothing to really remember a few months later. i'll watch solo when it comes on my TV but i've got no use for disney or the series at this point anymore.

I saw it with my son this weekend. It gives a little background on Han Solo, but not that much as it doesn't go much further back than maybe a few years earlier than when Han Solo was in the original Star Wars. The scenes are pretty much standard Star Wars type situations and outcomes. Overall it was entertaining enough, but really just "been there, done that" kind of action and story.

Not certain of the exact timeline but I believe Solo takes place sometime before the events of The Phantom Menace.

EDIT: Scratch that. That would make the age difference between Han and Leia greater than I would think.

Super Duper EDIT Part 2: Decided to do some internet searching (sue me) and see if someone gave the timeline more thought. I found one that I agree with. Solo takes place about seven years after Revenge of the Sith and twelve years before Rogue One. That would make Han about a decade older than Leia, which is about the age difference I always thought existed between the two.
