My parents just happened to be in Vegas at the time Elvis tapped his comeback special in June of 68. They heard in one of the casinos that he would be taping it in a couple of days and they tried getting tickets but they were sold out. I believe they shot that special over a 2 day period and it aired in Dec of 68.

Before Elvis...there was nothing.

Born to Rock....Shook-Up the World.

Love and Miss The One and Only!!!!

3 favorite "go to" Elvis albums
•Elvis Is Back
•From Elvis In Memphis
•That's The Way It Is

Greatest Ever.

I visited Graceland back in the early 2000s. I imagined Elvis Presley Blvd as this beautiful street running through town with a tree lined median. Nope. Ghetto as a mofo!!!! Shame too all the graffiti on his Graceland wall. I understand most of it is dedicated for Elvis but it looks tacky to me.

Well it's not suppose to be art.

3 more "go to" Elvis albums for me(&you if'n you want to).
·Elvis Presley...his iconic debut LP...opening track, his cover of Blue Suede Shoes is his "hello,world"...ironic,it begins with a count-down.
·How Great Thou Art...his 2nd gospel album in my opinion is his best.He rediscovers himself in a way...his love of music by going back to the genre that was closest to his heart...gospel.It would win him a grammy for best gospel album. If you ain't heard his version of Run On....then you ain't livin'.
·Elvis Country...arguably his greatest album.Recorded from my favorite sessions,The Nashville Marathon...June,1970 @RCA in Nashville....it ain't "straight country"....its Elvis....recording with his guys....in his favorite way...."LIVE".....free-wheelin'....an endless,seamless,work of art....jam session.This music...breathes.
You HAVE TO listen to his iconic versions of I Really Don't Want To Know and Funny How Time Slips Away.

Between the quaaludes, the showtunes, or the fact my father played his 8 tracks on a nightly basis while having me convert them to CD was a trip. I have to say, any man that can bring the blues and help shape rock and roll has a soft spot in my heart. It might be a little spot but somehow the man has influenced me in someway.

All the best Elvis. Hope the afterlife is better than some of us imagine....
