That Dale Earnhardt died. It seems to me just like yesterday. Still don't understand why his belt failed.

My favorite driver ever. There is no second. NASCAR hasn't been the same since. A very sad day for me.

Because he wouldn't tighten them all the way but he'd still be alive if he'd worn a full face helmet and wasn't blocking for his son and Michael.

I agree it was and is a sad loss but you know my feelings about him

All his death did was make NASCAR lame....cause all it has been since his death is Hendricks domination.

He was my favorite driver and the reason why I started watching NASCAR in the first place.....now I can barely stand it. In fact I only watch at it now.....

A friend called me about 2 hours after the race to tell me he had died. I didn't believe him.

I don't agree. NASCAR has gone through some changes since then for sure, and they do a lot of things I don't like. But there is still nothing like 15 or 20 cars running within a few feet of each other at nearly 200 MPH.

It is hardly a lame sport.

I have been a life long Jeff Gordon fan and could never stand to see Earnhardt running up front. I remember cheering like crazy when he crashed and then feeling like someone had killed my dog when I found out he had passed. Nascar, unlike most sports for me is unique. There are certain drivers I can't stand and he was one of them. However, the respect I had of his abilities behind the wheel were undenialble. He was one of the driving reasons for me getting involved in the sport of auto racing. While Nascar is still great, I miss looking for the number 3 and always wondering when he was going to make his move

That was literally the first NASCAR race I watched. Crazy that I picked that one.

obviously it was your fault

pack racing is back at Daytona as seen last night, nothing lame about that. No more ******** "couples" racing. Oh and hate him or not, Kyle Busch can drive the hell out of a race car.

Yep. I really don't like him one bit but he sure did a great job last night. Might be the best pure driver on the circuit. If he could just stop from being such a collisional jerk, he wouldn't be so despised.

Both Busch Bros are that way

I know. Rubberhead was worse than his brother when they first started though I think he has mellowed since (comparatively speaking).

Believe it or not one of the most arrogant drivers is Kevin Harvick. But I was told by someone who knows the family that he is just like his parent so he gets that honestly.

I remember seeing it on ESPN the day it happened. Very sad day for Nascar and it's fans.

I've never got the interest in the sport, just doesn't appeal to me in the least, but to each their own.

By lame I meant boring......to me. Earnhardt was the only reason I watched.....he was fan. The man in black, the villian. He was a master behind the wheel.....he could paint a racetrack the way michaelangelo painted the sisteen chapel.

even after his death, I still had Jr. to fall back on. But then he was basically forced to leave his daddy's company thanks to that hag Teresa. Then, NASCAR docks him 25 points for having a cuss word slip out in a post race interview....those points cost him dearly in the chase for a Championship. Meanwhile, people like Edwards, Busch, Keselowksi, etc....can practically kill each other with their vendetta's and no point deductions. The competition committee really has its head up its dark crevasse.

Also, I think the All-Star race happens too early in the year. What they should do is have the regular season. Then once we find out who all is in the chase, have the All-Star race.....then have the Chase for the Championship.

One last thing. I say modify the Chase a litte bit. If you earn top 10 in points you have shown consistency throughout the season and deserve a spot in the Chase, regardless if you have won a race or not. So, top 10 is in. Now if you are outside the top 10, but have won a race, then you qualify for the Chase. You should not only be rewarded for consistency, but also winning.

I can't stand the guy, but he is the best pure driver since Earnhardt. He also drives with the same aggression as #3...the big difference, the fans loved Dale, they despise Kyle.

They hate him because he had the nerve to wreck Jr. :laugh2:

or that's why my brother in law hates him :laugh2:
