Is anyone else going to the Midnight showing?

I am taking my daughters and my wife tonight. The worst part about this idea is I am in the middle of an insomnia bout and have only slept about 7 hours total in the last 72 hours. Last night was my best. I got 3 and half hours.

I wish. My kids are in Phoenix visiting their grandparents. They get home Saturday and I've got our tickets for a Saturday evening showing. (I love reserved seats!)

From everything I've read, it's going to be worth the wait. Looking forward to your review!

no i can't stay awake. tried the midnight showing of pheonix and lotr #3 and fell asleep in both. gonna go friday night. visa signature b1g1 free deal on fridays :)

Interesting up here theere is one place with 11 venues. They are using 9 of them for the showings starting at midnight through 1:30am.

Hos: Drink some cafine laced soda. A Jolt cola will do.

No midnight showing. But we do plan on going. My kids LOVE the books. I've read all of them....loved books 1-4. I'm not so crazy about books 5-7. They weren't written as well.

I'm really interested to see how they end this.

I'm going to try and take some of the younger peeps in the family so I have an excuse to go.

Thinking maybe 3D IMAX but who knows. Last time I went to IMAX (Non 3D) it was like 30 bucks for just my brother and I. I'm sure this time you'll have to sign a master promissory note at the ticket counter.

I haven't had a soda since October 1988. I doubt I'll ever drink one again.

I think 5 was the best book. At that age I was angry like he was. All the time. I got in so many fights that year it was not funny. Little things set me off just like that book. I felt it was very realistic.

I have an all day conference call tomorrow, which starts at 9 in the morning. I'm still considering the midnight showing, if only because I still think those are fun to go to. I guess you never grow up. :)

Why should we grow up when it is so much fun to be spontaneous?

Im going. Gonna get very little sleep which sucks. Books 4 and 7 are my favorites with 5 being my least favorite as the main plot point ended up being a huge waste (they spend the whole book worrying about voldemort getting the prophecy as if it would be some huge aid to his cause and it turns out to be mostly irrelevant, helps him really not at all and certainly isn't worth anywhere near the effort and sacrafice wasted to protect it).

It was very true to the book, but not as good as Part I in my opinion. I did like seeing the characters as adults taking their kids to school at the end.

The theatr kept the lights on the first 30 - 40 minutes so that pissed me off. Generally thought it was underwhelming. The last 20 minutes or so really pissed me off. That's when Yates inexplicable decision making reads it's ugly head. Note to Hates if you're going to just arbitrarily change thing...make sure you change it for the better, not much worse.

Thanks for spoiling the ending for me.

That's not really a big spoiler... it's in the book.

I was joking and I have not read the book. I did read the synopsis on Wikipedia, so I did know how it ended.

I know it's cliche, but the books are much better than the movies.

And although long, they're quick reads.
