His route running was criticized by Troy Aikman earlier this season, has it improved?? Lamb has been great, he's shown a willingness to play through a brutal injury. With that said, I think I'd like to see less workout videos this off season, and maybe get with a WR coach/former great WR to work on route running.

I say this in 2025 that this post is NOT meant to bash Lamb in anyway, if that's your intentions then hey! Please give your thoughts

Was it bad route running or just being out of football for a bit due to the holdout?
Sorry, don't recall the comment time frame.

We will see workout videos. Not just from CeeDee but from others. As well as "the best shape of my life" comments.
Get ready for them.

We need new routes and schemes is what we need. This comes from a new young innovative OC, not necessarily from a new HC.

I think what we seen different from Cede is that he bulked up some without losing his ability to run, or lose any speed. Now we need routes to get him separation, and down field separation.

You're being too nice to me sir lol you're right but, can't anyone come in with new concepts why does it just have to be young innovative guy.

Agree the workout videos are too much, everyone should be trying to get better and stronger, let's see some drills workouts with the OL guy Duke for the big guys, and route work with teachers to get these issues improved

Yeah, I don't think Jerry did the QB n WR any favors with the late contract signings, guys need reps, no matter how much the worked in the offseason.

I don't mind the workout videos, I actually like CeeDee's video, heck, maybe he can get Tolbert or Flournoy to get some work in with him.

Dont disagree regarding new routes and schemes. A young innovative OC wouldn't be a bad thing either.

I believe, don't have proof, that Big Mike was forced to keep Kellen Moore when he got the job 5 years ago. After that, I believe (don't have definitive proof) Jerry made it clear that McCarthy had to call plays. Jerry wanted more bang for his buck out of his HC.

I say that to say, I wonder if McCarthy even wants to keep calling plays and running the offense. He may be open to having a young OC running a newer version of the West Coast offense that Kyle Shanahan, McVay, and LaFluer run. Well, assuming he is back as HC.

Interesting perspective, but I lean towards what you wrote...would Jerry let Mike walk around and not call plays after he's done it for 2 years?

I am still on the fence with him. Out of all three (Dak, CD and Micah), I'd have put CD as the odd guy out for a big contract. I have questions about his mindset still from the GB playoff game a year ago. However, he's done well at well times. Was this year due to holding out and not being in game shape? I'd like to think that Dak and receiver core should be joined at the hip starting in Spring but I am too old school and just have to accept how the younger generation is now days.

Lamb is a stud. No questions about anything from me. He plays hard and wants to win every play and every game.

I think CD is rounding out into an exceptional receiver.
Yes, his route running is way better now, inside outside and slot - he can do it all.
We absolutely must get him help this year.
Can't question his "want to".
He is a bit of a diva, but what great receiver isn't ?
Imagine if they had gotten him a true # 2 instead of a blocking TE a couple years ago .....

Or even a TIGHT end that can get down the field like a WR, but yes a WR #2 will surely help take the pressure off him

I think for the most part his route running is good. But there isn't much variation in what our WR's run. Our offensive game plans don't put much pressure on good opposing defenses.
