Have the Cowboys ever been so active recently?

Making trades and not holding onto players, making the tough choice to say goodbye instead of hanging on as former coaches have done here.

Has anyone noticed this, hats off to the front office (Mcclay I'm assuming) for getting into the heads of the Jones family to make moves and let guys go who were here just because they were the right guys??

I'm liking this, I hope these little moves we make help us out, please give your thoughts

Its clearly the MM affect. Distinct changes have occurred in many areas including the draft, player acquisition and filling holes we have had for years. Acquiring a young talented QB while we have a franchise QB in place is just another sign that MM is having a big affect on Jerry.

Its night and day. And now the changes to the offense moving completely away from Garrett to the west coast shorter, quick passing game is now the icing on the cake.
Hopefully the Garrett disease is finally gone. Clearly MM at least has Jerry/Stephens ear with some things, not ultimate decisions like Jimmy had but more "you really need to do this/that" in overall philosophy...

Our FO is actually starting to resemble a real FO and they're listening to real concerns, which is a positive. I think they're finally letting the football people make real decisions.

The fact we got Mazi Smith with our first rounders when a guy like Nolan Smith was still there speaks volumes. I think they are starting to realize that in the cap area, you almost have to go all in and then just suffer for a few years afterwards while rebuilding to win a superbowl.

Thank you, see we can't stop the run and we skip means to fix the problem, I'm glad they're listening to the real concerns as well. Hell just look at the safety position on this team!!

I agree, and factor in Jerry is getting old and knows he will only get so many opportunities. Personally I think he's dying to win one without Jimmy.

Exactly. I know he technically did win one without Jimmy, but obviously the 1995 Cowboys were still Jimmy's team.

Agree Coogs……if they had done this last season ( especially shoring up the WR corp) things may have gone better……

When I saw us taking guys off the couch like TY Hilton while the Niners were picking up Christian MCCafree I knew how the season would end

Way better job by the FO this year……..however, in an ” all in season“ like this, I wouldn’t have minded seeing Dalvin Cook added……but of course we HAD to put more folding money in Zack Martins pocket instead.

the biggest reason you dont hire puppets like Garrett is because jerry doesnt respect their opinion. MM clearly has his ear and jerry listens to him.

Definitely more dynamism in the roster moves this past year. Wondering if MM doesn't have a stronger, more influential presence & personality than he has previously been given credit for.
A like just for the use of “ DYNAMISM”…….is that a real word, yo?

Is yo a real word?

Low-level trades aren't out of the ordinary for the Cowboys, I feel. Can't remember the last time they traded for someone big though, outside of Amari.

It has IMO been a very good change to see this FO go from constantly chirping “we like our guys” to “we are always looking to get better at every position”. Better late than never.
