The Spitter is over 1000 and Glenn needs 84 more yards over the next two games to join him. I think that would be a first in 'Boys history.

Hill and Pearson in 1980, definitely.
Not according to profootballreference.com.

The closest I have found was 1985 when Tony Hill had 1113 and Mike Renfro had 955.

I know for a fact that Hill, Pearson and Dorsett eclipsed 1,000 yards in 1980.

Drew Pearson in 1980: 43 catches for 568 yards. I was too young to remember it, but I just checked it on two separate websites.

Dorsett rushe3d for 1107 yards in 1979

Hill 60-1062-10 tds
Pearson 55-1026-8

1979
RECEIVING ATT YDS AVG LG TD
Hill 60 1,062 17.7 75t 10
D. Pearson 55 1,026 18.7 56t 8

I know for a fact it was 1979 with Staubach, Hill & Pearson because I predicted we would have two 1,000 yard receivers this year in a preseason thread and it led to a debate about when we last did it. I thought it had never been done but in Staubach's final (and best at passing) years he did it once with the last years of Pearson and Hill (IMO, underrated wideout) coming on strong. Surprising we haven't done it more often with all the great QBs and WRs in this team's history.

There you have it. I'm surprised this has only happened once in our history.

Nice. :star:

1979-2006.. It's about time we had another 1,000+ receiving combo. Thank Romo for that.

well, there was only a sixteen game schedule from 1978 on. We have never really had two elite receivers since Hill and Pearson until now. I know we had Irvin and Harper but we were too much ahead to throw the ball most of the time for Harper to get his 1000 yards

On the current pace we should have 3 that surpass the 1979 total.
