Have you guys used any of these gaming headsets?

I'm interested in these gaming headsets because they're well-known go have excellent Linux support, which is the kind of system I use. I'm not even a gamer, but I want a headset with excellent sound quality. I make a lot of Skype calls online because I help people in other countries with their English. Plus, I have some people helping me with my French. Another thing is I work from home and need to take calls. My existing Logitech headset is okay, but it's showing its age. Plus, there are higher end ones.

Some gaming headsets may work great with Windows and/or Mac, but then have lousy Linux support. These particular headsets on this list are known to be good for Linux systems:

Razer Kraken 7.1 V2
Logitech G533
SteelSeries Arctis 7

They're in my price range as well.

I bought them myself recently because I heard good things about them, but I have not had any time to unbox them and try them out yet.

It's the most comfortable headset I've ever owned and the mic is easily removable. The mute button could be more conveniently placed, but that's the only complaint that I have.

These are not a gaming headset by any means, however, I use them for all my desktop needs and they are fantastic. I use them for all my Teams meetings and music. They would work awesome for your Skype. I just enjoy the way they're setup for taking online meetings. They're comfortable, have great button accessibility for answering calls/mute/etc, and for music they sound great!

I even have them paired to my phone. Use them for calls and even mowing the yard.

That's my problem with gaming headsets ...

Once you have used Sony XM3s (or XM4s now) or BOSE QC35s a lot for general use, it is hard to switch to most gaming headsets, at least the closed-ear types.

I had been thinking about getting a good pair of open-ear gaming headsets (never owned that type) because I feel like it would feel less similar similar and inferior to great noise canceling headsets from Sony and BOSE.

I have not tried the Sony/BOSE headsets with grouping/co-op games so I do not know how they compare for that, but if I find they are good with those types of games I have been thinking about just buying a standalone mic and boom arm to go with them.

Yeah, and that's the problem with so many options and configurations, is that you'll just never know until you have the opportunity to try one. Unfortunately, a lot of these headsets are expensive, so it makes it difficult to be able to just run out, buy, and experiment.

I was fortunate enough to have had the opportunity to try those Plantronics for work. Otherwise, I couldn't imagine it would have been a brand/style I would have chose.

Your post came at a good time, as my work headphones ear muffs fell off and I can't get them back on. Can you sync to multiple phones at the same time?

Good question. I'm not sure. I don't believe I've ever tried. I get the feeling though that it will only pick up connection to a device one at a time.
