Havent been this excited in about this team, mainly the defense

If Mazi is legit and Gilmore plays to his standard we have solidified the two weak spots in a good defense.

Improvement is within the run defense. that is where it needs to start. I think Mazi, as he plays, and improves, along with Hankins there to help. The run defense will improve even more. As we seen the impact Hankins had, then how it dropped off without him.

I do feel Dak will rebound from his anomaly season. And will improve from MM and his play calling and 30% change, which was much needed.

This team can go further, and as the OP said in the thread title. Mainly for the defense if they can make those critical stops, so the offense can do their thing better. Better than the past few seasons, as when in the playoffs.

That is what fans are supposed to do.
Get excited about the new season regardless of anything else.
At least for myself, I do, as I do not concern myself with the past. Look forward, it is better for the soul.

Sure have some concerns, but a new season of football is approaching fast. I have been pretty busy this past few weeks, and the next few weeks or so. So this time until TC, seems to be going by pretty fast so far.
Only thing is July and August seems such a long time until the regular season gets here. But at least a good part of that TC will be going on.

Interesting fact, the 92 team was ranked #1 in defense, it also had no pro bowlers.

That would be great, but I don't see it at all year 1. He may not even play much in pass rush situations. If he does a great job against the run and clogging things up to keep the LBers free it will be a huge help.
