LANDOVER, Md. -- Albert Haynesworth took his most defiant stand yet against Mike Shanahan on Saturday night, saying the Washington Commanders coach underplayed the two-time All-Pro's medical condition in recent days and that he intends to boycott next year's offseason conditioning program as well.

Speaking after the Commanders' 23-3 preseason loss to the Baltimore Ravens, Haynesworth also said he shouldn't have been playing in the third quarter, when only backups were in the game.

Ah the Commanders. Almost as screwed up as this, but not quite there yet. Nah, they're there already.

Fat Albert is giving them fits, he says and does what he wants. He has absolutely NO RESPECT for MS or his teammates. Its amazing how their idiot fans come in here and tell us how good and dominant he is. He's a JOKE!!! I do love the CIRCUS they're running though, it's very entertaining...:D

Yes, I'm going to be very intrested to see what kind of spin homers like Doc Walker puts on this. They have to deal with him and it's going to be a distraction everyweek until they resolve the issue. Monday sportstalk should be very entertaining.

Oh no doubt!!! I love listening to WTEM but the midget owns that station and you can tell that he governs whats being said. WFAN gives you the truth, they don't pull any punches. He's not worth the headache and he isn't all that dominant. He isn't on the field long enough, he's all hype and a pain in their arse.. He shows MS absolutely NO RESPECT.. None!!!!

LOL.

This guy is the greatest thing that could have ever happened to the Washington Commanders. He's bashing the coach, missing practice, whining like a girl, and even already making it clear that next year he intends to start the whole process over again.

I love it.

I hope they keep him for another 5 or 6 years (though I know i'll never get to see anything that wonderful) and he continues this act that entire time.

I wonder if this guy has a single friend. It's hard to find someone more unlikeable than him.

that was interesting.

Shanahan is a good coach and they have some talent.

But if they hit a losing streak or a hard time..they will have half of the team blaming someone else. Haynesworth, hall, johnson, mcnabb, rogers....these are all guys who never accept blame and always use backhanded comments to weasel out of responsibility.

Man an early season losing streak could cause a huge mess there...and there first 6 are pretty tough, should be interesting to watch.

Hahahhahhahahahaha.

Not only are Commanders fans uniformly stupid, apparently so are there beat reports.

This moron actually reports that Haynesworth has rhabdomyolysis. Think he could have talked to an actual doctor before reporting this?

My firm has tried Rhabdo cases, and we have done quite a bit of research about the condition. Suffice it to say that based on what my understanding of it is,if AH had Rhabdo, he wouldn't have been standing on the sidelines much less playing. His *** would be be in the hospital or laying down. Rhabdo can be caused by any number of things such as pain medicine (e.g., after taking Propofol, it may be have been what killed Michael Jackson) or PEDs.

No way that Fat Al has Rhabdo. He's just playing the idiot Commanders fanbase for what they are: idiots.

I'm confused by what Mike said... I though Albert didn't practice leading up to the game so Mike played him into the 3rd qtr of the game.

Either way I hope the drama of Mike and Albert keeps going. Something tells me Albert will out last the coach in Washington.

No way. AH now has a very tradeable/cuttable contract at season's end.

If he isn't traded, or doesn't shape up and get with the program, he won't be on the roster next season.

Bruce Allen moved a very large chunk of his bonuses to this uncapped year

Shanahan on the other hand has a 7 million dollar per year contract over 5 years. Dan Snyder really can't afford to fire Shanahan.

The big thing is, Haynesworth is turning into the perfect foil making it that much easier for Shanahan to assert his authority to the rest of the team. He is the perfect lightning rod and antagonist and has quickly turned into Shanahan's Gomer Pyle (Full Metal Jacket reference)

PEDs was my first thought when I saw this report.

It would be f unny if it was true

<H3>Stat of the Week

Seven years, $100 million. With reachable incentive bonuses, seven years, $115 million.
Everywhere -- in Washington, Nashville and in national publications -- it was written over the weekend that Haynesworth signed the first $100-million contract by a defensive player in league history, a contract that could jump to $115 million if he earned some incentives.
That could happen. I could succeed Roger Goodell as commissioner of the NFL one day, too.
Haynesworth, barring a miracle, will never see the fifth year of the contract. In essence, he signed a four-year, $48-million contract Friday with the Commanders. That will carry him through his 11th season, in 2012 (barring a work stoppage in 2011, which is a real possibility). Here is the real contract:
YearSigning BonusOption BonusSalary2009$5 million--$6 million2010--$21 million$3.6 million*2011----$5.4 million2012----$7.2 millionTotals: four years, $48.2 million.
The asterisk is for an additional $1 million he could earn in an offseason workout bonus before camp.
The seven-year deal calls for Haynesworth to earn $29 million in 2013, $10.8 million in 2014 and $12 million in 2015.

A very large chunk (32 million) has been paid. Bruce Allen negotiated with Haynesworth in the offseason basically giving him the option to become a UFA if he returns 16.8 million dollars

Dude, with all due respect, I'm sure you've learned a lot about rhabdomyolysis in anesthesia, but your understanding is incorrect.

I get my MD in 9 months. It does come in degrees and far and away the most common reason for a "little bit of rhabdo" is an out of shape fellow exercising way more than he's used to, which makes perfect sense in this case. In the case of propofol, you could get it from a hyperthermic reaction or, more probably in MJ's case, just from getting so stoned that your muscles start to rot from the pressure of your body over a long period of time (especially combined with not enough oxygen and/or hydration). A football player could theoretically even get some rhabdo from getting really rocked by another player in a muscular part of the body. Dehydration would exacerbate this. I'm not saying Albert's never used PED's or anything, but there's no reason to suggest it from the rhabdo thing.
