This seems like it is David Helen's first article in his new assignment with Fox Sports, covering the Cowboys.

I think it is kind of generic as for him not to be too positive or negative but still a good read.

There is a part about what Jerry said boy MM though that is pretty interesting.
Below is clipped from the article.

Asked back in February if he felt he was putting undue pressure on McCarthy by speculating about other coaching candidates, Jones said something that has stuck with me all these months.

"Mike knows that someday, somebody other than him will be coach of the Cowboys," Jones said.

Of course, that is undeniably true. It still struck me as an odd thing to say about a coach coming off a 12-win season — and it still does. Regardless of intention, it squarely paints a target on McCarthy and ensures that his job security will be a topic of conversation throughout the coming campaign.

So does this put MM on the hot seat, probably not, but the burner could be on low.

You don't make it to NFL HC if you lose sleep about getting fired.

Guys that have made tens of millions already probably don't lose much sleep anyway...

Ahhhh....our fearless leader thinks that emasculating his head coach even further is a great motivational tactic.

We already understand who the scapegoat is Jerry, because it certainly isn't YOUR fault. You're a true football guy so it can't be.

And people think Prescott is what's holding this team back. Hysterical.

Jerry needs to show a little loyalty right now after a 12-5 season, regardless of the playoffs outcome. He sounds just as bad as some do here. Ungrateful and unsupportive.

Man, the season really needs to start. All of this is so irrelevant...

16 days to TC. Then we will get some new topics, though many will result in the same stuff. So yeah, regular season needs to get here soon. 2 months away.

We are going into season 27 of "high hopes" since the last Super Bowl championship.

I'd say 31 other teams also have the same "high hopes"..... nothing new here. Every team feels like this at this time of the year. Fine line between eternal optimist and plain delusional. Life goes on.

High hopes...is that what they call it when you're not a proven contender year in, year out? Relying on the wings of Lady Luck to carry us over the threshold is never a good idea.

High hopes? Seems like Jerry and Company are just mailing it in this offseason. I doubt they expect more than "maybe" winning the NFC East.

The Cowboys head coach is always going to be the topic of speculation.

Any presser by GM, VP, and HC will result in negative comments, as will interviews with or comments by players that are positive.

Who pee'd in your Cheerios? What do you know about what Jerry and Co. are doing this offseason? It doesn't seem you know much of anything, just dumping on the team for the heck of it.

Just what makes that little old ant
Think he'll move that rubber tree plant
Anyone knows an ant can't
Move a rubber tree plant
But he's got high hopes
He's got high hopes
He's got high apple pie
In the sky hopes
So any time you're gettin' low
'Stead of lettin' go
Just remember that ant
Oops, there goes another rubber tree plant
Oops, there goes another rubber tree plant
Oops, there goes another rubber tree plant

reading between the lines i take this as a negative article.

good teams have high expectations and goals
poor team have high hopes

big difference between expecting to win the division with a goal of doing well in the playoffs and hoping to have a good season.
