Cowboys’ Deadline Deal With CeeDee Lamb Lives Up to Their Reputation

Now we’ll see what happens with QB Dak Prescott and head coach Mike McCarthy. Plus predicting what happens with receivers Ja’Marr Chase and Brandon Aiyuk.

Deal
Despite what seemed to be interminable contract negotiations with CeeDee Lamb and Dak Prescott, the Cowboys were very much on brand in these negotiations.

Every team has a reputation and a résumé that is (or should be) known by every agent entering into negotiations with them. Similarly, every agent and agency has a reputation and résumé that is (or should be) known by every team negotiator. For the Cowboys, that reputation is to wait until the deadline—whatever that may be—and then pay the player a top-of-market contract. This is the ultimate “deadlines spur action” contract with a “deadlines spur action” team.

The Cowboys Have CeeDee Lamb Signed, But They Don’t Seem to Have an Overall Plan

Jerry Jones waited until the last minute to sign his star wide receiver, but with other big decisions looming, how does he want to fill out the rest of the roster

I'm not sure I have ever seen the national media go after Jerry as we are now seeing.
Media idiots will roast anything Cowboys, especially Jerry for ratings. Jerry's recent comments about being the only one that can do his job, just added fuel.
At the end of the day, those making fun of him for caving would have called him out for not caving. When it's all said and done, Jerry wins again....he's in the spotlight, selling tickets and getting the highest ratings of any team. Go Cowboys!

He motivates all including his coaches and players. He does challenge and moves from failure, but pays for success highly.

I agree with this. Too Bad Jerry winning does not correlate with the Dallas Cowboys winning. Jerry wins, the media wins ratings, the player wins a huge contract, the players rep/lawyer/negotiator wins, so everyone is happy except the fans who are not getting to see a team winning at a sport we all love. I just wish the money was tied to merit in the team sport, instead of the money tied to entertainment value.
