Probably won't watch the Bible series but Vikings is awesome so far. 3 episodes in and it's already put Walking Dead in 3rd place for my favorite shows. Nothing trumps Game of Thrones of course..I mean that would be crazy talk.

I'm in the same boat as you. I'm loving Vikings so far.

Yep Vikings has been killer so far. However am I the only one that thinks Gabriel Byrnes (sp) just does not fit in his role?

They are really selling out to Hollywood, imo.
They leave out huge parts of stories and have these overly long and gruesome fight scenes, and other graphic killings that I won't even mention.
That is what disappoints me the most, is how they lowered themselves to gore over substance.

actually one of the purposes of the show was to illustrate just how brutal the Bible was. The gore is substance- over the millennia things have been made much too antiseptic and nice versus how it was really written and how things were done 5000+ years ago

He has the right spirit, but physically his does not fit at all.

I just watched Sundays episode and it was really good.

I can't wait for next week!!!

I do realize that the Bible is very violent and until that movie came out a few years ago (and the producer condemned and ostracized) I thought they glossed over the crucifiction and what happened prior to it as well.

It just seemed like they really spent a lot of time on battle scenes and cutting babies throats when it added nothing to the story. jmo

I'm enjoying the Vikings too.

Saw online that Vikings has been granted a 2nd 10 episode season.

Heck yeah!!!!!!!!!!

One little detail about this show irks me and that's Ragnar's last name

It was Viking tradition the way i was thought it in school in Norway at least and still is a tradition in Iceland is that your last name would be the name of your father so in the show Ragnar's son would be what ever his name is and Ragnarson his daughters last name Ragnardottir

They don't seem to do this with the names in this show Ragnar has a regular last name

Well....guess you don't have to worrry about that anymore!
:chop:

Quicker exit than I expected, but that was another solid episode.

Just throwing this out there...Floki deserves an Emmy for best supporting actor or something of the sort. He's killing it with his part. His character is so bizarre and in such a good way.

Love the Vikings show, just not big on the speculation of the brother's betrayal. Maybe he's got something else in store...
