Considering tomorrow is the 48th anniversary of D-Day, I thought it appropriate. God bless the Greatest Generation.

Try 68th anniversary!

Any chance the attendant would do the same for a plane full of Vietnam vets, Korean War vets, Iraqi War vets, or Afghanistan vets? Doubt it.

And I have no doubt a plane full of world champion football players or basketball players would get a much bigger applause.

A good video, but I think the background music diminished it for me somewhat. I would have loved to hear the applause as the veterans appeared instead of some hokey song playing in the background. I am sure the heartfelt emotions of the people in the terminal would more than compensate the lack of a sound track.

I always to try to shake the hand of a WWII vet whenever I can, and if possible talk to them a bit. My mom is on her deathbed at a nursing home. I enjoy coming to see her there, but I have to admit one of my highlights is talking to one of the WWII residents living there. He is always at the front door pushing the handicap button to open the front doors. He is a sad shell of the man he once was, but he still has a sharp mind. His stories are worth the 10-15 extra minutes I spend at the home. You realize the hardships many of these men dealt with in the name of the USA.

I fly a lot, and I know most of the time the flight attendants will recognize the military members boarding the plane, and when they announce them there is always a big applause for them, even if it's only one or two members, and they usually let them board first.

Oh I think so... the whole thing was a tribute to vets in general...

Considering I've been on a plane (multiple times) where an attendant has done just that for Iraq/AFG veterans, yes.

I fly probably three or four times a month and see this all the time where vets are acknowledged. Plus I don't get what your point is.

I've watched that a few times today and each time it has the same impact. Wow!
