Ticket prices for more than 5,000 seats have been lowered, and more affordable beer prices will be offered throughout the ballpark. And for the first time since Minute Maid Park opened, fans will be permitted to bring in their own food and beverages.

"We feel this is the right thing to do," Crane said. "It is a way for us to let our fans know how vital they are to our success, and to let them know we've been listening to them."

Crane held another media session on Monday to outline rebates, lower ticket prices and the revised policy that allows fans to bring in their own food and water. He was also asked repeatedly about uniform and name changes.

Crane indicated that a uniform change was something management has been exploring for a while and if they do want to make a change prior to the '13 season, they'll have to notify Major League Baseball sometime around the start of the '12 season.

Crane also said they would consider a name change, but he indicated nothing was on the horizon on that front.

"We haven't said we're going to do it," Crane said. "Don't jump to any conclusions."

If you want to be more fan friendly, then put a good team on the field instead of the worst in franchise history.

1 step at a time. He is just getting his feet wet and I'm willing to give him some time to put a good product on the field. He has got alot of work ahead not only with the Astros but the farm teams as well. In the meantime he is at least listening to concerns the fans have, but your right ultimately it comes down to putting a winning product on the field.

Houston Dumpters works for a new name. Fits the team and the city. :muttley:

I freaking hate that city. It stinks, it's dirty and everyone I've ever met (in person anyhow) from there were *******s. :D

It might stink less if you moved out. ;)

It started smelling better when you left.:laugh2: I also do not know where in Houston you were. Around places like Pasadena and south Houston due to refineries it can have a smell to it. Myself I live in the far north west side of Houston and it is not an issue.

I will say some people can't hack Houston but then we don't want a bunch of Candy ars here anyways. :laugh2:

Never lived in Houston. Only passed through on my way to New Orleans or visited on business. My uncle used to live there when he was working for UPS too. So I visited him once or twice also.

So there you go, you know very little about my city.

I have been to many cities and have enjoyed my stay and like Houston they have their good and bad.

Keep the name...I love Houston Astros.....even though they have been playing like they have another S after the first one since Biggio retired.

I want different uniforms...you can say new ones, but I want to go retro. I want the ones with the rainbows on the shoulder....the ones that were around when Bagwell, Caminiti, and Biggio played together early in their careers. Give me those uniforms and I will be very happy.

I always like the Houston Colt 45 and their uniforms

Yeah, but today it would remind you of a cheap malt liquor.

That is what the Brewers remind me of. :laugh2:

What you have to deal with is the anti gun lobby.

I always like the looks of the old Colt 45 jersey and logo

Do you really need to put cheap in front of malt liquor? Seems redundant.

Yep - it would never get by the gun lobby or the political correctness movement.

We were thinking of changing it to the Cougars but I hear that name is taboo now. :laugh2:

Yep, now has a different connotation.

Let's see - something Houston related .....hmmm

The Rice Paddys?
The Oil Magnates?
The Sams (Houston that is)
The Lone Stars (the brewery is in San Antonio though)
