Anybody heard this rumor? It is being stated on a Razorback blog.

For us?

That makes no sense. One, why do we need one? And two, why would he take such a huge demotion when he's a pretty darn good college coach?

He's always been buddies with Jerry, so he's been linked to us before, but it's simply the Jerry Loves Razorbacks thing.

This sounds more like Razorback fans putting down their ex-coach.

He doesn't coach for Arkansas any more. I wouldn't buy this if I were you.

With the direction the program is going, he may not be coaching at Ole Miss any more either. :laugh1:

Dallas Cowboys. I'm not saying it's true, but just that it was stated on a razorback blog. The blogger types in Arkansas are still pretty obsessed with Nutt, so rumors about him spread quickly there.

I don't mean to throw gas on this.

***

Saturday’s 31-23 Egg Bowl loss to Mississippi State, Ole Miss’ second straight in the rivalry series, ended a 4-8 season and immediately turned the focus to what’s to come for this football program. Coach Houston Nutt added the intrigue when he was asked after the game what sort of items he wants to address after the season. “There’s a few things,” he said. “I’m going to get into that Sunday. I just — I want to talk to my team first before they read it. I want them to hear it first.”

It was an eye-opening quote. So what’s the ‘it’ in that equation? There’s plenty of speculation. But zero hard, provable, on-the-record facts...

he is known for being a guy who hates QB's and who cannot develop them at all. so I have a hard time buying into this. I have heard he might leave for U. of Colorado. Again, no way he comes in as a QB coach.

How has his QB's looked over the last couple of years? Because why do people think he will go to the NFL to become a QB coach? who would want him:confused:

Yeah, I do not buy this for one second to be honest. Remember, he kind of jilted Arkansas and Jerry is very involved there. I kind of doubt he'd be interested.

Wouldn't this imply that Jerry is out hiring assistant coaches before he has even finalized who the head coach is going to be?

For that reason alone, I hope there is absolutely no truth to this rumor.

As someone who lived in the state 19 years and still has family there, and as an Arkansas Razorbacks fan, I can tell you that A) Jerry Jones does not like Houston Nutt and B) Houston Nutt ruined good quarterback prospects we've had up here on the Hill from Clint Stoerner to Tavaris Jackson to Matt Jones to Mitch Mustain. The guy is an idiot and he'd destroy Tony Romo and abort Stephen McGee's career before it could ever get started.

Having said all of that, as a Dallas Cowboys diehard, I want Houston Nutt as far away from the Metroplex as possible. He's a blight. I hope he stays at Ole Miss so my Hogs can count on a conference rent-a-win per year.
