With Jerry Jones confirming that Dallas doesn't plan to start Gallup out on PUP, that makes the WR numbers not line up very well for Dennis Houston to make the team. Even though he's performed well in camp, he hasn't really done a lot in the two preseason games. I'd be tempted to sit him out of this one in order to not let him put something on film that would cause a team to claim him.

I can't see us being able to keep him on the roster with Lamb, Gallup, Tolbert, Fehoko, Brown and Turpin all likely to make it, along with having to initially start out with Washington on the 53 in order to move him to short-term IR.

Get rid of Washington. Period. He's always injury prone. Not worth the roster spot. Not sure what anyone sees in him anyhow.

There is no FB on the team. Turpin can take that roster spot.

That leaves room for Houston.

I wish they could find room for Vasher. Have a feeling Vasher's height and ability to win 1-on-1 matchups in the red zone will be missed if the Cowboys cut him.

Even getting rid of Washington doesn't really fix the problem. Washington is just a temporary spot, so we'll cut someone like Goodwin and then re-sign him in order to create spot. I can't see us carrying seven receivers.

Meh.

If our season is contingent on whether Dennis Houston makes the team, we're not in any position to win anyway.

You cut Houston so you can have a fresh rotation on the defensive line.

Houston likely wouldn't see much playing time anyway.

I don't know man, Houston seems better than a couple drafted WRs, but I agree he's on the bubble.

Houston was just another player fans get hyped up about from a few good plays that the media talk about.
He was not a serious threat to bump anyone off the roster unless a rash of injuries.

Since Gallup will be on the roster. Then he will be on the PS, and he will not get poached.

I honestly like Houston. But since we'll have plenty of WRs after a few games. I'd rather save that roster spot for Hendershot. But that's just me.

dennis houston makes the 53.

You say that. But then try to do your own 53-man roster.

I'm not going to lie. It gets tricky, and there are a few guys you really want to keep, but can't.

You'll likely see Houston to the PS until we can IR Washington, then he'll get called up and we can evaluate until Washington's return.

Like I said, it would work since no FB will be carried. 6 WRs is the norm. The extra roster spot that was supposed to be for a FB can now be used on a 7th WR/Specialist like Turpin.

I wouldn't worry too much about receivers. The ball may not be dispersed as freely as first thought.
