How about channeling Tom Landry for OT solution

I say go big or go home Ridgeway might make a great offensive tackle he certainly looked spanked playing defensive tackle the other night.

His body language wreaked of being out of shape and improperly conditioned and he supposed to be some kind of tough guy but like Lombardi said fatigue makes cowards of us all.

Putting him at guard and let Tyler play tackle. Could he really be worse than Ball

Your best option for week one is Tyler Smith at LT and Conner McGovern at LG.

The injury to Tyron Smith pretty much means Farniok is not out starting center, like some here wanted. He now has more value as a backup to both center and guard. I say that because Badiasz hasn't been training at two different positions like Farnoik has. I'm now thinking our 3 primary backups on the OL are Farnoik, Alarcon, and Ball.

All is not lost yet. But, if Tyler Smith plays left tackle, we should expect a lot of holding calls on him..

Let's take one of our surplus DL and convert them to OT. I nominate Chauncey Golston
You know what, I really like that idea. It has worked in the past, even for us. Of course it would take time so it's not a immediate solution, but why not try it?

It's risky. Before Tyler Smith adapts to playing LT, his confidence may be destroyed. Let's hope that's not what happens. :omg:

I'm holding out hope that we'll get someone in the final cuts to man the spot at LT. Otherwise, the results could easily be awful.

The only real players they are likely to trade would be Trysten Hill, Carlos Watkins, Tarell Basham.

These guys aren’t going to net you anything better than Smith, McGovern etc.

He doesn’t mean trade them for LTs, he means play them at LT

HELL NO!

we have guys that are better options., we are far far from being that desperate jeez:facepalm::eek:

there are many options on this team that who they have drafted, some gone, some failed but they have addressed it and some may still come through.

Biadsz
Cwill
collins
Farinok-
Ball
Waletzko
Tsmith73
steele
Mcgovern
and others

dont say they arent trying, that list has soem potential given time,.

what we dont have is time i get it 13 days until game 1,

I hope they bring in a OT or 2 but if they dont i guess we will see what these guys have.
if that happens, i believe

TS73-Mcgovern-Biadsz-Martin-Steelk is the day one line. Farinok swing g/c you have to use both Ball and Wally as the swing tackles.

Both DeMarcus Lawrence and John Ridgeway played some OT in high school

And Wright, aka “The Big Cat” was also originally a TE when drafted by the Cowboys.

Mark Tuinei was also a converted DT.

Brian Waters was a TE for Cowboys. went on to be perennial All Pro for Chiefs at OG.

Todd Christiansen drafted 2nd round by Cowboys to play FB. Became 5× pro bowler as TE for Raiders.

Mark Tuinei was a converted defensive lineman as well.
The problem is, Tui played defense for three seasons before moving over. He started his career in 1983 and it took until around 1990 for him to be a start dominating and not missing time as much time due to injury.

It’s much different now. People want Ball gone after playing just 3 preseason games after two seasons and the same with Waletzko.

That's the best option, you could still play Smith at LT a bit in games, especially where Dallas is way behind late in a game.

Smith is not "ready for prime time" at LT in the NFL, big chance he develops bad habits, gets a reputation for penalties or has his confidence shaken if he's thrown to the wolves at this time. Of course, if they can't find an at least decent LT in the next week or so, might be the only choice Dallas has....
