Nobody getting paid to coach or help the coaches can't realize this and say hey let's run a different route?? What's the love with all these curl routes????

The Linehan/Garrett/Moore coaching tree has produced these predictable plays where other teams are literally calling us out publicly on how predictable our offense is, but we're not going to try for a real OC because the OC's jerry keeps putting in place are his hand picked boy wonders.

The players will get the blame when they get spanked against great defenses who already know where to be to get easy interceptions.

You ever played football at a high level?

Coaches break this down even at a high school level. Imagine what professionals can do. You see tendencies and what teams like to do. Teams know we like to run curl routes and that Dak often is a one look guy. It makes it easy to jump routes

I think Jerry and Stephen encourage basic/simple football so that they can understand it themselves. They don't want the team to run complex schemes because then they would feel dumb trying to follow along amongst the real football minds on the coaching staff.

That's why Garrett was a perfect fit for them with his bland approach "Line up and beat your man, win your individual matchup!"

big part of our offense relies on our receivers being better that the other guy. a bunch of plays that rely on hoping the db misses a tackle instead of getting them into open space. Not only that, but Dak has to literally be perfect on a majority of his throws or else he's screwed. he has to throw it right when he expects the receiver to turn around, and the receiver also has to expect it almost immediately. All this while the db is just sitting watching it happen. It's not the right offense for a inconsistent qb like Dak who struggles with accuracy. many times he throws it right on the money, but many times he throws it too early or too late in a spot that isn't likely to be caught...

when it's too early, the receiver doesn't have enough time to react/adjust their body to catch because most likely the ball isn't where they expect it to be...which leads to it bouncing off their hands/body into a defenders hands because they are right there the whole time....when he hesitates, you have the receiver just standing there waiting for the ball and the db not far off either ready to jump the route or make the tackle immediately because again, they are right there the whole time. That's likely the reason Dak struggles with zone coverage because it's so much easier for the defense to react before the ball even leaves his hands
