How big is Texas, how small is the World's population?

According to that population clock, the world's population is growing by 132 people per minute. That's an average of over 190,000 people per day, I find that rather astounding.

I always found it amusing that the halfway point between Dallas, TX and Los Angeles, CA is El Paso, TX.

Also, from Texarkana, TX, it is closer to Chicago, IL, than it is to El Paso, TX.

If you took the world's population:

And put each and every one of them within the borders of Texas, we'd each have 1047 sq feet between us.

If you put everyone inside the borders of the United States we'd have 14,852 sq feet between us.

Random useless knowledge.

In either case I suspect that the distances between people would be filled with sewage and trash. I wonder where they would produce food?

Phew.

So relieved.

It seems there's enough room that I won't have to round up homeless people and turn them into Soilent Green.

Yep... used to live near Texarkana... that always astounded people...

We also used to say... "I strapped my 2 year old in her car seat in Texarkana... by the time I got to El Paso she was in third grade...
