Over the season he has gotten a decent amount of rotationa snaps (25-30 a game) and has taken on the lions share since Overshown has gotten hurt. More likely than not he will be one of our starters in 2025

How confident are you that he will be a quality starting linebacker

He has quality’s you like in a LB, i do wish he plays with a little more controlled havoc.

Will depend on your idea of “quality”. I voted “somewhat confident” in large part due to my personal preference for aggressive LB’s that can move.

Probably as expected, he seems to have room to grow in terms of diagnosing plays. On the plus side, I didn’t view him as a great tackler in college, but this year I didn’t see much to support that perception.

I can’t imagine the organization expected much more from him than what they got this year. Solid rookie campaign. Curious to see his development.

I really like him. I'm not sure he has the size and toughness in the muck to shed blocks and be stout at the point of attack and play the Mike but I am pretty confident he can be a good starter for the next half decade or so. He really impressed me as the season went on. So, we still need Kendrick or another LBer next to him and Overshown

I went somewhat confident. He is farther ahead than expected. That says something about his preparation

However, there are some red flags too. Missed tackle rate is pretty high. 5 in the last 3 games. There is confidence he can become a very good starter. However its not irrational to fear he may end up no better than Clark was in 2023

Earlier on, I found myself repeatedly telling the TV that he needs to relax a little, and to his credit he seems to have listened.

I think he has shown the potential to be at least a solid rotational player, very possibly an every down LB.

At a min......he deserves a chance to compete and if we move to 3-4 D, I think gets it.
With Overshown's 2025 seriously in question, I think he is the favorite for a 2025 starter spot. We would have to sign a tier 2 FA for him to automatically get bumped down. We aren't doing that

Like him and will take more notice.....want to see if he can be a gap filler/stopper in the run game. What good is a LB if he's tackling 5+ yds downfield on a run play? Lateral speed is important too (contain a Jayden Daniels QB).

He's going to be a fine player. I think he can be a poor man's Overshown. I do not think he is a downhill thumper against the run, but he is perfect for containing mobile QBs, covering RBs, and tracking down runners on the outside.

We need to pair him with some good DTs and another good LB in order to make up for what he can't do when it comes to A gap run stuffing, but this season he's shown he's got the skills to play in the NFL.

That's on the DLine and the D scheme.

what quality that's easy I mean just saying he's solid linebacker that contributes as a starter on a regular basis yes of course 100% confident we're not talking about making this guy a pro bowler or a Hall of Famer we're just talking about can he contribute as an everyday online backer especially waiting on some of these guys to get back next year and we don't know what we're doing in the draft or free agency so we better hope so....

Outside linebacker and middle linebacker you know a pass rusher or someone who can man the middle play a little like kendricks that's high on my draft board if they're there in the first round I might take them depending on where we're picking but with the injuries on that side of the ball not knowing when they might make it back for what part of the season next year we must make linebacker a priority in this draft or in free agency... I think kendricks did a really good job but he couldn't do it two years in a row we're gonna need another guy like him to bridge the gap in my opinion

I'm no great evaluator of linebackers but I can see him out there making plays and for a rookie I think that's a good start.

I keep hearing about his high football IQ. Do you guys see that he's diagnosing plays well?

3-4 VS. 4-3 isnr really relevant anymore. 70-80% of the time you are in Nickel or Dime. Teams dont rub Nickel and Dime out of odd fronts like Wade used to.

So if we switch to a "3-4", he will only be in it 20-30% of the time

It's possible but shouldn't be counted on. It's moreso a question for the front office. Is he living at the facility demanding to be a starter with his work ethic? If so I'd say yes I'm confident in him

have heard he is always there working out and watching film. He had an excellent rep at ND for doing the same.

Ill say this, he looks better as a pro than he did in college. Looks like he is taking advantage of the resources he has. Although its not like he went to some garbage program
